Hi I play poker often I tend to focus and gather as much information as possible on the players at my table and adjust my overall game plan for the players at my table but I tend to loose concentration after a certain amount of time and my mind wonders what would you suggest to stay focused for longer ?

Take some breaks which are longer than one day. I think you are bit overloaded :)

Hi ryan1994 and welcome to Cardschat. I guess I missed your introduction. Anyway, I have done what adamovic just said not to do, and he is right. Now days I close those down, and the fact is that I do play better. So instead of looking at FB I stay focused by playing at least 3 games. I even play 4 but that's a little much in the long run. I hope you find something that will help you stay focused. I don't know if you do this or not. There are many days that I just over do it by starting to play at 12pm and playing my last MTT that starts a 9pm, and man by then I'm just tired and sometimes I wish I had not registered for that last one because I know it won't be over until about 12am. That's 12 hours of play. That's just to much, and the truth is that it's like giving away my money, because most of the time I will lose that one so here lately I've been stopping after the 7pm MTT is over and watch some TV before bed time. If not, I'm not focused at all. GL to you

Like someone said, take some breaks. Try to figure out your attention span length and take breaks around those times. I feel these vary by the player, no real set time. I find myself on some days, being very in tune and others I struggle. Also, try to take a break on a bad beat. Cool off and come back with a positive and confident outlook.

Man, you must concentrate and think you're over there to play, can not be discouraged by losing a hand or get worried and thinking about other things extra game.
Focus on your hand, then the opponents charge and you need to keep the concentration further tournaments that takes longer, get up, go to the bathroom, wash your face helps a lot.
I have helped.

I like to guess what people have before they lay down their hands. It keeps me entertained. The more you practice staying focused the longer you will be able to do so.

I agree. Taking the time to work on other aspects of the game will help reinforce the necessary skills you need, while forcing you to pay attention. Sometimes if I have a good read on a player, and I think I know what they have, I'll try to calculate what the pot odds are for them.

Takesome breaks to relax ,if you're tired stop playing 1 min or 2 or earlier before the actual break begins , so what , you won't lose much gameplay , it's very important so as to keep being able to stay focus on the game ..Drink a coffee , don't read emails or twitter or other internet pages if they distract your concetration
