I'd like to understand what your thought processes are on when a person is doing a squeeze, how do you all know exactly what that large over bet of theirs means preflop?

I see this time and time again in the 180 mans I've been playing lately, and majority of the time it's just a flat out steal, but than there's been times that it's been the nuts, and usually the players that make this move are the nits of the table, those 4/1 and 5/5 and 30/1 (they are the types that usually do this play more often than not.

So I was wondering what do you all look for when facing such a move?

again hard to meassure the reasoning for the overbet squeeze, are they using a hud or not,

in generall if they are squeezing over 13-20 % of their hands in attempts to steal but rarely prepared to call of their stack, you can profitably shove your speculative hands such as 78s Q10 etc for it to be profitable long term even if you get knocked out in that one game over like 100 games you will be making the right decision.
you have to have the correct BB depth and in addition if they have relitively small stacks you might want to think twice about calling or raising unless your prepared to go to showdown

(I dont use a hud) though its easier to identify the percentages with one. as a guideline I'l try and note how many times they are 3-betting and raising,

but in a nutshell in a 180 you generally have two profitable options fold or shove, when without a premium hand

I agree with some of this-
I dont like shoving as much if Im the one that opened the pot with a weaker holding. The person behind me may have just called with a strong holding. Chips stacks have alot to do with the decision also- if you shove and they dont have enough chips to make a fold I don't like that play as much with a weaker hand-

I wouldnt bother with that is it a stealing or value squeeze, i might be a to tight but i would only push there with qq+
I have to agree with cotta about stack size and percentage and long term profit...

UTG has basically come in for a min raise so I'm thinking the big blind is sensing weakness or if he is a nit as you say, then perhaps he has woken up with a premium hand.More likely the latter as that is probably what a nits range is .I think this is where hud stats can be tricky ,cause if you believe that he is a nit holding 88 you are at best most likely in a flip situation .I do agree a shove could be profitable long term but not with weak pairs .......scorp
