I am curious what method of study or combination of methods works best for everyone. Books, videos, instructor, self analyzing, peer analyzing, others? Have you always used this method or did you find beginning on one method or combination of methods and moving on to others as you advanced worked better for you? What percentage of play vs study works for you? Anything to add that might help a long time break even/slightly losing player tip the odds towards more winning than losing? I play cash and mtt depending on mood and mindset, don't really play sng.

I am currently trying something new. I have picked up Mike Caro's book "Caro's Most Profitable Hold Em Advice." I am going to take one or two ideas at a time and try to implement them for a week. As I ply I will take notes to myself. I am going to record each session and then watch that session a few days later and evaluate each hand and compare my notes afterward. No idea if this will help me but I am going to give it a shot. It can't make me any worse.

Need to play more and theory to test in practice. In poker there is no best game modes, the game is always changing.A good helper in the study of games is the analysis of the hands played and a discussion with other players...

it depends what works for everyone, some learn better by whatching videos others by reading books etc, the only think that matters is to apply in your game what have you learned.

I read some books , then I saw a lot of poker streams , and videos , and I learned from my mistakes , and trying to avoid them , and from mistakes of others players.
We will learn the game always with a lot of effort , and time by time we will have results.

Usually I watch pros I like on twitch or read articles. Books tend to get dated.

do it step by step my friend.. im bad player too but this is my advice may help.. watching video then go pratice, after whatching video then go read some article then go pratice again... this is the best method for our brain to remember all stuff we learn.. dont do both(watching and read aticle) at the same time then go pratice bcouse may its make you confuse while you pratice.. gg

I study poker with time at the table mostly. Other than playing I also like to watch players on twitch or big events on the television. Recently after joining this community I saw someone mention a book "Caro's Most Profitable Hold 'Em Advice" I haven't finished it yet but I can already see my game improving via making better decisions.

I watched celebrity poker showdown. It was a decent way to get a handle on the basics. One of the few poker shows that actually explained how to play from a pro.

I think the best method of studying if the one that maximizes you´re learning capabilities and it varies from person to person, for example, i myself dont like been sitting watching 40-50 minutes videos over and over again i rather get quality coaching and break down the spots myself later on. Dont get me wrong, videos and books are awesome for theory and fundamental purposes.
