Especially in freerolls MTT players make many shoves in the early stages. When you call?
When you have AA, AK...? when the player is loose? Which situations?

77+, AJ+ is usually way ahead of any random shove

Typically you'd want to save flips for later in the tournament. I see a lot of people shoving any pair, any Ace, and a lot of times just any two cards.

You can call if you want to or you can wait out the craziness, the shovers will calm down as the tournament progresses.

AA-1010 or AK I'm calling. It's a freeroll ffs.

Way ahead? I don't think so.

With 77 you are literally a coin flip with 89s & AJ is a 60/40 with KQ

If you decide to take a freeroll somewhat seriously then you should fold 77 to a shove. You shouldn't be looking for coin flips at the beginning of the tournament.

I wouldn't go with JJ because that tends to be a major losing hand.
If you have AA, KK, QQ, QK, AQ, or AK I say definitely go for it. If they're loose they probably don't have better if good cards at all.

I've been playing a lot. I call JJ+ and typically AJ+. Many of the people who shove have nothing. If you have notes on who the regs are, then you can easily call with that against the unknowns.

I folded AJ earlier because three called. One had AQ, the other two had junk. My Jack would have been good, but as it was I was glad I folded. 1v1 I probably would ahve been good though.

As with all poker the answer is it depends. Have they shoved before? Are they doing it every hand? Are there any callers. Do you have hands on them, Do you feel like gambling.....etc.

I agree with both of your responses. Depending on the situation, the pusher's stack size, how loose or passive they are, and many other possible factors, they could have anything from 44+ to a random face card. Freeroll players aren't all terrible, and of the ones who frequently make irrational decisions, there isn't a large enough majority shoving utter trash to warrant calling too wide.

I wouldn't go with JJ because that tends to be a major losing hand.

I don't have the experience to say that this is wholly untrue, but I know that it is very situational. As others stated before, it depends on the opponent. JJ may tend to be a losing hand, but that seems most likely because it tends to be played incorrectly, not because it is categorically more likely to lose.

Its a free roll, so waiting for premium hands is not a good use of time. Early on coin flips are a good way to build your stack and have a chance to win it.

"All-in" doesn't need to be a coin flip, and being patient doesn't need to mean waiting for premium cards. Trapping frequent pushers is much easier than trying to win a flip, preflop. I just noticed that legudus didn't specify between pre- or post-flop shoves. Besides pre-flop all-ins, many players will limp and shove any time they hit a pair. This can happen on the flop, turn, or river. True, it is a freeroll, but a better idea than looking for coin flips might be playing a few more hands and seeing more flops. I see many players shoving low flushes. That would be a good time to call with the nut AXs. Other hands that have this potential might be low connectors, broadways, etc. There are many opportunities to confidently call with an entire stack, other than a coin-flip pre-flop. There are also more optimal ways to build a stack in a freeroll than coin-flips. There aren't enough people taking completely ridiculous lines to justify a coin-flip as a top priority. Against the right players, it can be okay, but it doesn't seem like a necessary strategy, overall.

At the beginning, any A10+ should do the job since there are many shoves with any pair or A9-, KJ-, but if you doesn't want to count only with luck a call with TT+ could win most of the times.
But as aways in poker, nothing is absolute!!

well depends your chips and your opponents AK big pocket of pairs thats hands you can shove, when your opponent had bad beat and he shove the next hand yeap that will be nice move to call his all -in and of course the players who shove every hand they propably have week hands most of time so you take the risk with a good hand

QQ, KK, AA, I shove, the other hand is reset. To be honest, I do try to avoid alyn game in before the flop. The reason is simple, get a tape measure. You can even push 26 off suit and hit one pair or two pair. I think any alyn pre-flop coin toss. As you play the freeroll, so you will always play because it produces thought patterns. This rule is observed at all times in the early stages of any tournamen

I agree! Players in tilt simply throw chips into the pot without thinking.

10 minutes ago I call with KQs! The donkie boy had K10... flop=10...
Because of this situation I created the topic. I think, in the early stages of freerolls call crazy shoves and lose the tournament. But I understand that in certain situations the player must call even if they run the risk of being eliminated early

there is no guarantee you wont get bad beat, but using AA KK QQ AK AQ will at least give you better odds of winning. ive been beat with ak against 38 where 338 came out. it happens i dont worry about it. I know i made the right decision.

Still depends on how many players called. :) Will still fold even if I have AA or KK, AK with many players around me.

I believe you should call if you have jj+ ak like the post above says it depends how many people are All in in front of you , however i would never fold AA, or KK , cause you are basically blocking the best starting hands so your chance of winning the hand and accumalating chips increases
