Hello Everybody And A Merry Christmas,

I would like to ask how you guys improve your game so that you can move up stakes online. For example do you guys do a lot of reading and then try and apply those concepts while playing. Do you guys review your plays/pots after a session if so how do you guys do it. I would just like your honest opinion and how you guys improve your game and any suggestions on how you do it would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks for your input

A bit of advice is to always keep pot odds and hand percentage in mind. People always talk about reading books to improve your game, yes, if you have no idea about poker, it would be good to read a book, but if you're already a seasoned player, I don't see it a necessity to have to read every poker book on the planet (imo). OBV you have to dominate the micro level before you can move up(it happens, but not always do you see people succeed online when they start at high limits) So just stay at a lower limit that is comfortable for you, therefore, if you do take a hit, in all reality, in won't be that big of a hit because you're playing micro. Once you have mastered the micro limit you will know it. Just don't start getting greedy and buying in out of your range if you do happen to bink one. Good Luck!

No substitute for reviewing your hands - you'd be amazed at what you will find.

I think to play one or 2 tables first until you are profitable when you move up a stake is important.

Not to just jump in and play 4-6 tables or more if you play x amount of tables.

Reviewing your hands yes important to be able to spot your leaks. but more important that if you dont know how to do that you post your hands here for people to review.

Also taking notes on players as always just try and exploit them find weaknesses right down how the play the hand.
Then when your faced with a decision against that player you can look back on that info.
You might find that even at higher stakes if you take notes it doesnt really matter how good they are everyone has tendancies and patterns we can track.

It might be a case of next level thinking like tracking hands and spots they fold to 3-bets and tracking their reactions to floating. and tracking who they 3-bet and whether their are any clear image indications of the players they 3-bet which indicate the player is trying to exploit bad play and what it is they are exploting so you can then rep an exploitable image to trick that opponent into certain plays against you or so forth etc.

I read books, watch videos, take advice from other players, etc. I've found it's important to be selective in terms of assessing how well or poorly various changes will fit the rest of my game, and also how easy or hard they're likely to be to integrate.
