re: Poker & How do I actually make money playing poker?
Assuming $250 is your entire bankroll, playing $15 games is insane...excusez le mot.
As for gametypes, well you know best yourself what fits you well.
When it comes to stakes....play stakes where you don't tilt after losing a few buyins or better said, stakes that don't hurt your emotions during a losing streak.
Than, a bad beat will only hurt you when you feel like you deserve to win.
Well, you don't unless your opponent draws dead....keep that in mind.
Still, with a roll of $250 a bad beat in a $15 game will make you feel terrible, while that same bad beat in a $2.50 game probably won't hurt you at all.
You just fire up another tournament.
Patience is key and if you are indeed a decent player, playing lower stakes will still make your roll grow.
It might make you feel bored, running it up slowly, but for all sake, if you do feel bored while playing, just take a break for a while, but never ever go playing higher stakes because you're bored.
I can only think of 2 reasons to play higher stakes.
First, when we managed to build a roll which suffices for the higher stakes.
Second, when we manage to win a satelite and just want to give it a shot.
And remember one thing.....nothing so frustrating as having to deposit again and again.
So treat your bankroll as something precious...after all, it's what you work with.
