How should I focus properly when i am not well or sick. I feel that it affects my game and sometimes I don't want to skip days because of a fever or cold.
In my opinion you should give playing a little break when you feeling a bit under the weather. When you are ill, your brain does not work as well as when you are well, which leads to bad poker choices. It's better to take a little break & come back when you feeling a bit better. Usually when you come back from a break, your game is much better. well for me anyways...
Don't play when you are feeling bad, because there is no way you can stay focused, or be patience Take a break and when you feel better, go back playing. You will be glad you did. I just come off of a break. I have felt real bad for 3 days, but I feel great today and a lot of that is because I didn't play and lose a big amount that I could use when I got better. Having good BRM is very important. It does not just save your BR so you can play another day, but it also keeps you in that positive mood so you can play and win. GL to you
But no, seriously, don't play when you are less than 100% you will make more mistakes and "real poker" comes from capitalizing on the mistakes (and weaknesses) of others while minimizing your own mistakes.
slow breathing in any situation is hepfull. you can read about parasympathetic nervous system is you want. 4-5 breaths per minute for a few minutes will do the trick
PS don't push your luck with playng to much sick/drunk/high... you will make a stupid decision
I think its all about the phsychical set, you could force yourself be focused, nothing could do it for you.
Its normal to drink something to refresh yourself, not only when you are sick.
You could choose as many drinks as you like, the coffee and the tea are the second in my list. Sometimes i prefer the alcochol drinks, they affect me good. : )
__________________ Constancy its the key to master. Master is the key to success!
The key of playing online poker is to remain calm.Calm is the name of the game when it comes to mtts for example.Keeping your nerves on hold is very easy,I for example maintain myself calm by drinking "good night tea" and watch on the half of my desktop a movie or a tv series i like.
Patience is the next vital virtue a pokerplayer must have.Patience=The ability to fold numerous hands ,play good starting hands and fold them if someone reraisese u if u did not intended to commit to much money to the pot. Again watching a tv series and watching the poker table helps not getting bored and keeps u calm. This is what usualy earned me a few final tables in the Carschat tournament freeroll.Good luck to you all
learn to work with your b game. If you play full time and you simply cannot skip playing days, just load a few less tables, get some games in, simplify decisions a touch.
Also, know what you do when you are playing your b game, it could be that you are impatient or you play recklessly, if you know that about yourself and you know you are playing your b game, make sure you keep this in mind when you are playing and keep focusing on that weak area.
if possible, play slightly shorter sessions and take breaks regularly, re hydrate eat etc etc.
If you play poker then you should just play poker. That is, do not play poker and see television or navigate the Internet or talk on the phone with your partner. All these factors influence our concentration.
Sometimes you need to take breaks in the game, did not play a few days, especially if not well feel, as this will affect your game and you show the worst results, but it is a waste of money and enjoyment of the game, so it is better to abstain! Poker will always be, and you can play at any time, a few days nothing would not solve.
Depending on what I have and how I am feeling will determine if I decide to play. If I am feeling a little under the weather then I will still play and fight my way through it. If, however, I'm feeling depressed for reasons away from poker then I tend to not play because those factors tend to affect my game more because it/they affect my focus versus just feeling under the weather.
In my humble opinion we should not play when we are sick, I know this is hard ... Anyway, when we are sick nothing is good, we are impatient, nervous, tired and want to solve everything that gets in the way income and concentration. I'd rather not play. But if it is a malaise at the moment, the best thing to do is get up, wash your face, then back to the table.
