Hi guys,

I just wanted some advice, I've been putting in a lot of hours in online, trying to build a bankroll from £23, playing £1.15 Double Your Money SnG's.

Using 20 buy in's, trying to climb up the stakes but I'm getting really frustrated. I seem to win more than I lose but my bankroll is like a yoyo. One minute I'm up to £30 odd, the next I'm back down to where I started. I've managed to control my tilt issues which have had me in the past but now I can't understand where I'm going wrong.

Any advice?

Thanks!

Its normal its variance, but if you are good you will build your stack slowly in long run. So make sure you play right. Check some articles on internet about strategy in those games you play. You might find some leaks. Its not that hard on micro stakes to be profitable, cause a lot of bad players are there. It will be harder on higher stakes.

I agree that micro stakes are easier to build bankroll and play against easier opponents, but do not expect to get rich quickly :)

you would have to play lower inputs, as I have understood 20 you would have to play the maximum input of 0.20 because you got to have 100 buy in. hence to control your bankroll because in higher having a bad streak betting is your bankroll you would end soon ..

Building a bankroll can be a slow and painful process. Going broke can be a part of that process, but it is not necessary. Just play games you like at the stakes that excite you. That's my advice.

Are you are winning player?
if yes
then, what is your Return of investment for each game? - you cannot expect you winning every game you registered.

the next question how big is the max variance, does your bankroll will be large enough, not to bankrupt before the max swing comes.

if all is OK, play your games. you are safe.

good luck

You should definitely play cash games and stay disciplined with that process until you get at least 25 bi up.. I did that successfully for awhile before I mixed in some tourney's. Been at it for years and I have made a nice profit playing live cash games. Tourneys generally have to much variance to build a strong br with little money resources. Play disciplined aggressive poker at low level cash games and stay patient with the process until you achieve your br goal...whatever that may be? but do it with discipline and play aggressive in the right spots to make you feel comfortable and gain confidence with your play

First I wouldn't be playing sng's. I really think there is more variance than cash. Switch to cash only. Play tight and don't bluff often (some tables you should never bluff). Other thing is to put more money online to play bigger games. Some of the micro games just feel like you are not getting anywhere. Good luck and hang in there.

Good idea on playing 1% of the bankroll and timing the pull out point...
