Hello everybody.

This question emerged on my mind today.

I am new Player of Poker, with a little knowledge acquired by Brazilian Videos. Won LAPT Satellite and stayed 6th place on LAPT 1$ Satellite PANAMA, warranted me 106$.

Unconscious of money, I played mix; SnG, MTT, Cash Money and Spin Go... Doubled my Bank in one week, but lost everything in two month. I can't explain whats happen, just bad beats by bad beats and tilts.

Now i have been building my Bank playing freerolls and SnG 0,02 cents, i want to be a lucrative player, however, How the best way to evolution?

pick a game that you like and learn to master it, it takes time and patience but if you continue to play mixed games you will be average at all of them and master none, which does not fair well for your long term poker career.

What you use to study?

depends on what game i choose. If it were MTT i'd be looking for things to do with postflop play and early game. Choose books or videos directed specifically to the areas you are trying to improve.

early on i'd suggest a 50:50 ratio of playing and study, but obviously drop this down as you get more and more experience and require more game time over learning.

Play a lot of hands, write down mistakes and fix them.

You know a bad move by the loss. But there are many times that a loss with the best hand can't be helped, and should be one you can learn from. You are really mixing it up by the looks of it. Are you in a hurry to get some where? Bottom line, you will need to slow down. You are headed for a downswing of your own making. WIZZIM said it best. Pick one and master it. And then find out from others how long it takes to be where you want to be in 1 year. GL to you

Just to help y'all. this is one area people just don't seem to understand with poker. Since there is an element of luck and guesswork with ranges involved and since nothing is really ever perfect you simply won't know if you played a hand good or bad by the result you get.

Like you could have theoretically played a hand perfectly, came up against the top of someones range and lost. This can happen over and over and it might feel like you are playing badly. If you adjust your play so that you are now suddenly not playing that spot perfectly, not only will you still lose the same amount, now you will lose more often in that spot and it's now a leak you will need to fix.

teaching yourself how to think about poker is the best thing you can ever do for yourself, first step is realizing the above.

One other way i like to explain it. Lets say you are trying to become a professional tennis player, generally with sports you would agree that the more you practise at something the better you will become. So lets say you want to work on your serve, and you practise and practise you will obviously become better at serving and your results will be that you will get more serves in that you did previously. With poker, using that same logic it's not the case...

So lets say you practise your shoving ranges for a spot, you can practise and practise but that won't necessarily lead to immediately better results. This is due to the luck factor or "variance" that poker always has present.

So when you are learning the game, you are best trying to learn from others much better than you, learning theory of why you open raise and why you should c-bet flops. Learn the why and you will be well on your way to better thinking about poker.

hope this helps.

"Learn the why and you will be well on your way to better thinking about poker" WIZZIM you hit the nail on the head again. Poker will not work along with a negative
mind.while trying to play. Many has been down that road. And to tell the truth, I was so negative that I sold myself out before the game even started. I believed I was a loser, and that's what I did. lose. And the more I played ,the madder I would get.. I had a 1000 loses that I could remember, but I could not remember any wins that stuck with me. So I'm carrying this shit around with me, It must not have been painful , because I held on tight to my negatives and kept losing. But the best thing that has happened for me is finding CC online. I have overcome a lot of problems here that go right along with poker. GL you all
