Once, I for a whole week could not get into the prize zone in tournaments. I was very upset because of this. I thought I was starting to play bad, so I lose. But I played as usual. But then I got into the prize zone, and everything became good.
Sometimes you just have to play your game, not changing anything, because the changes in style can lead to even more tilt.

free rolls

just play like a million free rolls in a row where you go all in like a maniac. If you look for em you'll find 5-6 that you can probably join right away(during daylight hours) and just go all in until you get sick of it. Then go online and read about poker odds so that your angry reptile brain can kinda slow down and your logical evolved self can focus on the fact that while there is gambling in poker, poker isnt gambling. And that over time, if you play smart, you will win more than you lose. Remember the hand that you caught the bad beat (tilt hand) and figure out if you did something wrong or if it was just bad luck, if it was bad luck figure out just how lucky the guy got and reminise about a few times that you got just as lucky, if you made a mistake learn what you did so you dont repeat it. Join a game and fold any hand thats not 10s or higher for a few hours at a time using good strategy until you freakin WIN THAT SHIT YEAH BOyyyyYYYYY!!!

Your opponents, if only you will allow them, use your emotions against you. The result of an emotional game is wrong decisions and loss of money. If you fall into tilt, loss of self-control is common, and sometimes the only cure for this is a break in the game. Everything is in order, in ten minutes the game will still continue. Moreover, it will continue tomorrow.

Practice humility; recognize that you cannot always win. Also, consider the variance of each game you are playing along with "risk of ruin".

Tilting is a frame of mind.
And as such, everyone is different, so what works for one individual may not necessary work for someone else.
It’s all about self-control and how one manages it.

Question: are you a master of your Tilt Domain, or are you a Slave to it?

I hope I will not repeat it, but I want to add that when playing a lot of tournaments at the same time, the attention can be diminished. That's why I do not open more than 2 tournaments at once.

for me anyone who has overcome tilt is certainly a winning player, unfortunately there is no exact recipe about how it happens , my way is to fight until I win the tilt

I once watched Daniel Nigriand play the Sit & Go tournament, he was knocked out, he did not get to the final table. And now if I lose, then I console myself that if Nigriyan can lose, then I can lose.:dontknow:

Tilt is a mix of emotions from anger to frustration, IRL you would maybe walk away, calm down then return to resolve the issue in a calm manner.

Did you play the hand wrong? Did your opponent just get lucky?

All you can do is fix any holes you may have in your game and accept that there are bad players out there and move on.

Riding out the Tilt

When I'm on tilt and I recognize it what I do is completely shut down my game. I will fold pretty much every hand, only playing TT or better or AQ or better and if I don't catch those hands I won't play the hand. I do this for about 5+ orbits to calm myself down. Then, when I acknowledge I am calm again, i go back to my normal style of play. Basically, to ride out the tilt I become a nit.

Tilt is our biggest opponent :D Poker players usually lose money with tilt, not other players... This is very hard but the most important to beat him and have steel mind :D

Decide your move and play it. Don't get upset after.

Deciding to play the best move is even better. We usually tilt when we get bad beat...why do we get bad beat? We get bad beat when someone sucks out on us. They 'shouldn't have won' and 'got lucky'.

This means that you made them sweat, you made the best decision. In the long run, that descision will show a profit.

We all get caught up in results and money. Do not fall foul of this and you can walk off from each bad beat knowing you played well. Embrace those bad beats knowing you played it perfect!

Regonise that tilt could cost you more in the long run. Tilt leaves a residue too. So let's say you quit after almost going on tilt. You calm down and complete forget about that bad beat a few hours later. Once you come back you have a slightly lower threshold because of that last bad beat and when the situations pops up again, (say AA and it gets beat), you tilt again quicker.

That's probably a little confusing and explained badly but listen or read to The Menal Game of Poker. It's a very good read/listen to help with underlying issues of tilt.
