I purchased Holdem Manager a little while ago and now have a few thousand hands to look through, with more coming in every day. I have been reviewing hands/plays based on what I guess to be the right criteria - looking at outliers, big winners/losers, hands or spots where I consistently lose.

But I can't help the feeling that I'm not taking maximum advantage of the available data. Can anyone recommend a more formalized approach that will allow me to leverage the huge amount of information about my game that I now have at my fingertips?

Slight plug, but have you checked out leak buster? It's going to make that whole process of analysis super simple for you, and you'll learn a lot too.

just look at all the hands you're losing with and analyse them and recognize your mistakes, some will be simply unfortunate where variance has factored in and others will be down to bad play. Recognize it and eliminate it.
