Distract your self because trying to make sense of any of these players will not.Watch tv listen to music listen to ur Gf bitch about noting.
Keep yourself busy from crap hands!
Also dont watch phil ivey videos and listen to hard core rap music trying to bluff people of middle pair.Watch the tom dwan full tilt commcerical about playing like yourself.

Dont shove with aa if no one has called or raised infront of you

If a CB dont work the next probly wont either.Your most likely to get called down with bottom pair or just ace high.Try< To take your time while deciding to call, bet, or raise, fold

And also very important dont bet for no ression hoping your villian folds.
You will just get pot commited have a plan every street.
Are you beting for value? information? Bluff semi bluff CB

And i think thats it for now Thanks hope i helped somewhat

Ops also Kj j 10 qk broadways are not that great to raise out of position cause if you get re raised they mostly have you beat.

Dont do things just to distract yourself. Open up a couple more tables and play very straight forward poker.

This is so true and you need to follow it...It's especially a delight when you at least have top pair and you know he's gonna keep calling with Ace high or middle pair :D

There's truth in your statement, but it doesn't come from just distractions.

It comes from patience and sticking to good hands, good play, wading through the variance.

Distracting yourself is kind of a bandaid solution. It can help some people to play fewer poor hands, but does little or nothing to address the underlying need to improve their patience.

Arjonius - I agree with you. I am a new player and have played a few micro stakes games. Though it can stress you out, learning patient at this level will do a lot of good for your game.

If you got hem/pt3, then it'll be ok to distract yourself and fold crap hands. But otherwise, you better not distract yourself. Even after you fold crap hands, you still have to pay attention to the table to see what's going on. There are many information that can be obtained from the table that hem/pt3 will not provide you.

It's not about distracting... there is a lot of useful information u can pick up on from uneducated players. The biggest thing is not letting your psyche unravel as you wait, patiently... to make your moves. Discipline is key and adaptation is a must. But I wouldn't distract myself... I would observe closely and note as much as i can... people love to show their skills or lack there of.

In my opinion you should first learn to concentrate. on microlimits many people do not have a clue about strategy, but it does not mean that you should all compile and invent some ridiculous mooves, write more Notts, use any program to collect statistics, play more hands and use one simple rule - tight is right.

Another thing is that it is not possible to win if the cards don't fall your way because they won't fold.

Today I've had river suckouts against me of 2, 3, and 4 outs.

The dude calls me down with 66 and hits runner runner gutshot str.
Another dude calls my 4 bet shove with AT and hits his A on the river (I had KK)
Another dude calls me down with ace high and hits A on the river.

Then when I had AK, AQ and hands of that nature 10 times. Hit a pair of Ks one time... of course, that was the hand that the guy hit the gutshot str on.

Of the other 9 times, I took the blinds twice. And the other 7 times, I lost them all. Lost at showdown 3 times (Cbet twice, then checked down... the other one was checked down) and folded 4 times as I had air against aggression.

I doubled up one time with AA. And that is how I am "only" down 2 buy ins.

It ain't right... but as the copout saying goes, "that's poker."

i definitely agree with the watching something on the side part...it can get very boring waiting for cards and u get sucked into playing bad hands out of sheer boredom...i always have a movie playing or im talking to ppl just to keep myself occupied...whenever i dont i start trying to get fancy with bad hands, just for the hell of it...im much more consistent when i just disregard hands that i dont wana play and get back to the movie im watching
