Is there +EV in loosing on purpose? Here's a hand I had last night. I knew I was beaten but wanted to show a loss because it seemed that villains had stopped playing back at me. This seemed like a good opportunity to loose a small pot with a hand that would make it look like I couldn't get away from a pocket pair. Is there any value in this or am I just being an idiot?

at higher stakes maybe as people might value bet a wider range against you but it would probably take more than a single loose call for them to try and exploit you, but in all honesty half these guys at 5nl are either mass multi tabling and/or not paying any attention.

Just at first glance..

I am raising pre..... I am betting that flop if called.

Turn will all depend on what has happened thus far......

Edit: OK, you are not asking about your play but your representing an image.... Sorry, I was not commenting on that.....

Still, raise pre.

+ another one.

I can see that working live when everyone is (or should be) focusing on what's going on at a single table, but on-line, I dunno.

No there is absolutely no +EV for purposely spewing away chips. And why would you not be able to get away with a small pocket pair on that board in the first pace. It is an automatic fold to a bet. And once you get called on your turn bet then betting again is not a good idea unless you hit a 2 outer on the river.

these strategies do not work on the lower limits, because most do not pay attention in previous rounds, WHAT matters to them is only the current round
