First and foremost, Hello Everyone and thanks ahead of time for any help I will be finding on here. I am mostly an MTT player, with so far horrible stats, but, I am here to learn and move forward, simply because I love the game too much to simply quit. Also, please forgive my writing/grammar, my main language is not English ( French )

Now, I have been trying to work on my game as best as I could, and have been noticing some of my strong points, as well as MANY weak points in my plays. As of now, here is what ( I believe ) I do good in my games :

Exploit my good hands to their full potential.
Calculate outs and odds very quickly.
Stealing blinds in late stages.
Playing according to my position at the table.

Now, Moving onto the many flaws in my game :

bankroll Management. ( I always find myself jumping into something too big eventually )
Dealing with Middle pairs/Suited connectors/ Suited A-Low ( Both Pre and Post Flop )
All of the EV stuff. ( Can’t get it into my head to understand it properly )
Getting deep ( I have a somewhat decent ITM%, however, only once in a while will I make it really deep into a MTT, main reason seems to be I am always short stacked reaching the bubble )
Ranges ( I cannot seem to put a proper range on my opponents )
Taking Notes ( Most of my notes consists of players against whom I suffered a Bad Beat and the notes usually look like : Shoved A-4o Pre Flop UTG+1 80% Field left, which gives me no insight what so ever when I meet that player again at a table.
And more…

Now, I know some of them points, I should be able to correct easily, BRM for an example, should be an easy fix. Set a Limit, and NOT go above it for whatever possible reason. The EV Calculations, is rather simple mathematics, therefore, I believe that simply reading into the subject some more would drastically help my knowledge of it. As for notes, I guess it is a personal thing for each and every one of us to write what helps us. There are probably not two of us that write them the same way, however, I would be really interested into some insight on how others do it.

Hence, this leaves me with 3 major points I want to work on. Which are somewhat all related to each other: Dealing with tricky hands (Middle Pairs/Suited Connectors/Suited A-Low) While learning to deal with these, I will inevitably need to learn how to deal with ranging my opponent’s hands, which will also (If all learned properly) lead into going deeper into tournaments.

I believe most players now a days use HUD’s , I have tried getting some, and whichever I got, I never managed to get them running right ( They would not line up with the tables, the stats would not be associated with the right players, etc, etc…) So I eventually gave up on them, but am not completely removing them from the solution if I could find someone to give me a hand setting one up properly one of these days. Now, about HUD’s, considering I never managed to get one running properly, what exactly are the major benefits of one ? What very useful stats can be found on one? Do they really let you see mucked cards? Etc… Any more information or help on them would be greatly appreciated.

Another thing I would like to get better at is 3-4bets, when to do it? When to let it go? Etc, but that part I will learn as I play and post hands up for analysis I guess. One thing I started doing lately is posting all the hands which I am not sure I played properly up on BOOM, therefore, I can get to review them and see where/if/how I screwed it up.

The only other forms of “training” I have been doing apart from practicing are reading books, as well as doing some live training on PokerSchoolOnline, which so far I have found very helpful in most cases. Although not necessarily always regarding the games I play, or the way I play, I believe I have learned something in every one of them sessions I have followed, and to top it off, they are free.

Now, I know there is probably a lot more than what I have mentioned on here that needs to be adjusted in my game, however, these are the things I noticed on my own while playing. If anyone has any insight on other stuff that they think I should look into, or study, please feel free to share. I am also open to book / articles or anything else for that matter that could possibly help me improve my game in any shape or way.

As for my stats so far, they are quite simply horrible, with a few really good finished, many horrible finishes, and others, but considering I am here to see if anyone has any pointers for a player like me, I believe I need to share my stats ( At least the ones I have collected ) in order to get some proper opinions and transparency.

Thanks ahead of time, for any advice, tips, or comments.

Lots of views, not many replies.

I could also consider hiring a coach if anyone could possibly be interested ?

You mention middle pairs, suited Aces, and suited connectors as your trouble hands. Are you limping in with these hands preflop? If yes, I'd suggest adopting a raise or fold strategy preflop unless the table is very loose passive.

Well, if you want, I can review some hand histories with you. I'm familiar with tournaments but I'm mostly a SnG player but I think I could give some decent advice and maybe we can discuss different routes and strategies to take and we can both learn a bit.

If you have skype you can add me and I'll just leave it here (if I'm allowed to, not sure if that's against forum rules or not.) Anyone else who would like to discuss hands and strategies can add me too if they want.

This is certainly a great place to learn.

Are things much quieter at CC now since some (all?) US states have banned online poker?

CC is as active as ever.
Guys, I see you don't have a lot of posts, so I'd recommend you getting those 65 along with the 30 day posting history, so you will get the access to Freeroll Club, letting you play with awesome forum members, making CC even a better place to learn, and boost your bankroll too.

Working on it. I rather take my time and have 65 quality posts. And, I feel like I learn a lot simply by reading in all the threads on here. The freeroll club is a bonus, but not the main reason I am on cardschat.

BRM--Learn it, Love it, Live it! I don't care how good a player you become, without proper bankroll management you can destroy everything!

Given that you're playing entry-level MTTs, it seems you may be getting ahead of yourself in terms of what you're looking to work on. You can be a winner at this level just by playing a comparatively solid style that leads to making fewer questionable and poor decisions than most of your opponents.

Note that I'm talking about becoming a winner, not about increasing your win rate. These are not the same thing.

I suspect the types of hands you say you want to work on can wait until you are able to play a solid TAG style well enough to be a break-even player if not a small winner.

Try "Sit'n'go strategy" from Collin Moshman. It's a must-read book for sng and tournament players I believe.

Well, after 1 week of coaching, I can already see some improvements.

3 FT's in the last week, as well as 2 wins :)

Still a lot of work to do however ! But I am getting a lot more confident at the tables !

I'm just reading that at the moment, only just finished the Low Blind Play section but I like the way that he gives example hands for you to try to work out what you should ideally be doing in various situations.

This was a good training with my girlfriends on small tournament on poker stars :)
By chance we met in the same revs and it was really interesting to fight with them. I hope to make new friends here with whom I will also sit at the same table.
I can not put the picture of this tournament , can someone tell me how to do this?

I learn by watching clips from the tournament. much can be learned at different sites and forums. Here you can really find much advice. Due to my bad English a lot I do not understand, but this is the opportunity and improve your pronunciation .You must still overcome and poker vocabulary :)
