So Ive been playing poker for a few years now, and online on and off for a year. I live in the US so the only site i really have is Bovada. It seems I cant beat even the lowest stakes online, even though Ive had quite a bit of sucess at higher stakes live. Ive decided i need to try out a HUD. the only thing is i have no idea how to use it, especially with Bovada where everyone is anonymous. Can somebody give me a few tips please. Thank you.

If you can't beat micro stakes,I don't think a HUD is the answer.
Try brushing up on your theory, such as:
1) Digest a Poker book such as Doyle Brunson's Super System
2) Watch Poker Training Videos
3) Ask questions here at CC where people will always help.
Good luck!

Try Carbon? Carbon has a really weak 4NL field. But it probably isn't a lot different than the field at Bovada. Players aren't anon at Carbon though so you can keep track of the fishies :)

By the way, IMO you can gain more from online resources than Super System for NLHE. I only read the part for NLHE, and wasn't impressed.

Playing at Carbon myself and may try juicy stakes. Several sites still take US players. Do not like Bovada myself. Have no idea who you are playing and cannot take notes on someone because of that.

A friend recommended that i play on Bovada. i had an old account, so decided to give it a try. At first i kinda hated it, with the anonymous players, and playing without a HUD was a bit of an adjustment. But now i really like playing there.

There is a HH converter for Bovada now by Ace Poker Solutions, the same guys that make Leakbuster. It will convert your hands, and let you import them into HM2, so you can see your stats and graphs, and review/post hands. Being able to track your progress, definitely makes playing there a lot better.

It has a free trial, so maybe you can import some hands, and post your stats and get some feedback.

FWIW: The live players I encounter are some of the worst poker players known to man. They give money away.

However, I am a live player primarily. I can't get the reads online like I can live. Live players sometimes have a tough time switching to online. I think this is because the average online player plays a better game than live players. You are going to have to gain some experience, and be able to recognize betting patterns. You must also learn to exploit the fishies.

Like some of the others said, brush up on your theory. Learn as much as you can.

Edit: I forgot to mention; Study up on maximizing value. It is essential to keep the calling stations calling, and get the most money possible from your monsters.
This is what I consider to be one of the most important things in poker. Every time you wake up with a huge hand, think about how you can get the most money in the pot with that hand, considering how your opponents play, and their tendencies.
