Hi, share your experience. I play freeroll tournaments, for money with a small commission, when the stakes are rising, many raise, I play with a good card at the showdown, I lose, and very often the players go all-in, I fold. It's hard to get on prizes. The novice in poker.

The thing about freerolls, premium hand loses its value some what in comparision with bigger buyin tournaments. This is simply due to the fact free rolls are "risk free" sooo, with that being said you gonna but ALOT of loose players. You could have AA for all they care, they not gonna mind shipping it against your AA with 96, 98, 57 etc. The sad thing is to most of the time you shove you get multiple calls from opponents with garbage hands which then decrease the value of your premium which then results in you being beaten by low range straights, low range trips , low range two pairs etc. So what i would advise when playing free rolls, is try to pick your spots carefully, Avoid going all in against 3+ players. If you can get one on one or one vs two player coin flips then go ahead. Keep playing your solid game and making +ev decisions and in the long run you will profit (fact). gl sir

Tho still you should be happy to ship AA even against several stacks, maybe you lose every now and then. But in general you have to run really deep in freerolls to make any money so I wouldn't ever consider folding it.

And to OP, just read alot about poker, post any hands where you have questions about on here and everyone will be happy to give their advice/opinions on it :D

Well, if you are playing for money one thing I seriously advise to novices is to play other sites than pokerstars - simply too many expert players there. Try 888 or partypoker - it is easyer to get money there. But if you play just freerolls, then its all the same - these are FREE after all.

I have found that the most profitable way to play freerolls is to never bet all in or call an all in unless you have the absolute best 5 card hand on the board, taking account for any future cards on the turn or river. Otherwise as Lerts mentioned, freerolls are risk-free and filled with people that have never taken time to study poker.

Even with pocket AA youre all in bet will get called and beaten by a weaker hand in a freeroll 3 out of 4 times.

Ive found that play money games , or Apps like wsop poker that uses play money can help you understand how to play freerolls better because they are also risk-free. My suggestion... and it maybe incorrect, is to only play freerolls as long as you have to or want to, BUT once you switch to the micro limit games understand that the strategy has changed. Players will still call youre all ins with just about any hand, BUT they are risking Something... even if its pennies. Sufficiently studying will bring you to enlightenment.

There are many newcomers to such tournaments. Who do not know how to play at all. And go all-in on almost any card in the hope of success. Unfortunately sometimes it brings them victory.

A freeroll is a freeroll at the end of the day. You see players shoving with marginal hands and its hard to go deep in the tournament with huge fields unless i have some luck on ur side. No matter how tight u play, it is really tough to make it to the end.

You need to look for the players who like to play, remember, do not rush, I usually figure out who is bluffing the reraise and everything is fine, the nerves are fine when I get regular prizes.

The thing with freerolls is that many players are loose so essentially its going to come down to luck.

The bad thing is the skills involve are somewhat taken away because of how loose players play.

C-bets used to be a tactic I use a lot for tournaments but I am constantly getting raised.

So no matter what its difficult.

It seems like every time someone goes all-in and you follow it, you lose; That is the idea that one begins to make as the tournament progresses, and even one usually thinks that they have some program that gives clairvoyance xD; But the truth is, they play with a certain strategy, which can easily overshadow post-flop.

In Freerolls, Elementary League, the maximum number of players is 10,000. The most arrogant and reckless lose at the initial stage. When there are less than 8000 players, it becomes easier to play, but there are still aggressors who were lucky ... when there are less than 50% of players left, there are those who have a small stack and are forced to play outrageously, with the cards that come to them, they risk because Nothing is lost. Therefore, at all stages of freerolls you will encounter such players, and according to the theory of probability, there is a chance to lose even having monsters on hand. So you must calmly refer to the loss in freerolls, playing tightly try to move to a higher league.

Look for a good opportunity, for example tournament start everyone with more than 30 bb someone raises from ep and many calls you can make the call with hundreds of hands as it has enough pot odds. This is opportunity. Look for them. good luck.
