I play on PS sngs and tourneys for fun i put down $600 in november and won and lost at the moment i am still up but not as much as i have been my PS name is Snowymitty! can you look up my stats and tell me where i'm going wrong/what i'm doing right. I look up other players stats and i rarely find anyone making money so i am wondering whether i will ever make any decent money. I think i am an average player and the only way i will make a profit is by FT one of the Sunday majors is that really the only way of making a few quid?? Anyway i don't know how these stat sites really work but if you could have at look at mine maybe you could tell me where i'm going wrong... Or just tell me to sod off..

tough one, i dont even know my own stats lol
i do know poker is a long grind and you wont get rich overnight

do you play mtts, sitngos, cash? all three??
find what game (and buyin) you have most success at and stick with that for awhile
me, Im a mtt player but not winning enough (you can go long streaks without a cash)
I recently got into 9man sitngos and have fared quite well, i am also doing a lot of the 45man games and am showing a profit too
I usually go down when I play cash over my limit and big buyin mtts-
but ya gotta go for the gold sometimes right??

maybe post some hand histories of the spots where you lose a lot- there may be a tell of sorts or a pattern...do you always pay when in small blind? do you have fav cards that are rags? do you overvalue AK? do you play many hands OOP(out of position)? chase many str8/flush draws? etc.

Hi Mic, i play sngs anything between 9-180 players $30-$100. I find the higher the buy in the more successful i am but i find it difficult to stick to one game, i guess i'm a degen like most poker players.. My sng graph is pretty good but i put all my profits into playing mtts and until last week i just seem to lose flips in mtts at pivotal moments.. Recently i've started playing $27 sats with a view to playing the $215 turbo every night and i FT one and basically cleared my MTT losses in one night. The problem is when i have a good win like that it makes me think i'm a good player when in effect i just ran good for once. Anyway i guess i'm jiust wondering how many people turn a profit, i'm guessing it's 0.000000001%!

It's more than 0.000000001% lol. Probs talking more like 5-10%, but I don't think anyone knows for sure.

I'm a cash game player and I don't know how to look up SNG/MTT stats??

Also sounds like you don't have very good BRM since you are playing $30-$100 MTT SNGs and you only deposited $600, unless you had a decent win of course ;)

you need to sort out your bankroll management for starters, your last 10 games for instance

Ended Tournament Buy-In+Fee
04/27/2012 $5.10 NL Hold'em [Hyper-Turbo, 6-Max, $1K Gtd]
04/27/2012 $16.50 NL Hold'em [Turbo, $5K Gtd]
04/27/2012 $77 NL Hold'em [6-Max, Turbo, $7.5K Gtd]
04/27/2012 $82 NLHE [6-Max, Hyper-Turbo, $5K Gtd]
04/27/2012 $51 NLHE [Hyper-Turbo, $6K Gtd]
04/27/2012 $3.30+R NL Hold'em [2x-Turbo, $4K Gtd]
04/27/2012 $8.80 NLHE [6-Max, Turbo, $4K Gtd]
04/27/2012 $77 NLHE [6-Max, Turbo, $10K Gtd]
04/27/2012 $23.45 NL Hold'em [Hyper-Turbo, $8K Gtd]
04/27/2012 $15.00 NL Hold'em [Turbo]

it looks to me your just jumping in to any game because its starting soonest

if your bankrolled to be able to play $77 mtts (btw you should have a bankroll of at least $4k to playing these) then why are you also playing a $5 game?

are you better at full ring or 6 max? work out which one it is and enter those tournaments!

to be honest, you have only played 200 mtt's thats a tint tiny sample, especially since you seem to like playing turbo's and hyper turbos, you need to play a ton more to even get a idea if your any good at them

your sng sample is still tiny (600 odd games this year)

you really need to find one type of game and stick to it for a while, get a hud (pt3 or HM2) if you dont have one, that way you can look at your in depth stats, you can start working out which games are most profitable for you

as for bankroll management, playing mtt's. and the 180 sng your buy in should really only be at most 2% of your roll

i just think you need to stick to one game for a while, you have had some good results in the 180 mans so why not stick to them, they have buy ins at all the levels so you can move up when your rolled for it
