re: Poker & Hand Help please!!
If we get all our chips in the pot, it does not matter what stack sizes anyone else has. There may be effective stack considerations. Ex; 1,2,3bet and the shove by us. Bigger stacks will be looking at possibly spoiling the big stacks they have, and smaller stacks won't matter...We can only win (our stack x # of players in pot). Big stacks is in jeopardy, small stack is looking to double,triple,w/e up.
So we are playing with our FE at this point, and if someone calls, we really are only worried about sets (minimized [but not non-existant] cuz we hold 2 of the 12 necessary combo's), and that evil KQ combo.
Since we decided to play this hand, we should be looking for opportunities, like this, to capitalize in large ways.
Str8's, flushes and to a slightly lesser degree sets, should be considered rare, with the average winning hand something like a pair and a half, 2 pr, and T2P should be considered strong enough, most of the time, to warrant shoving.
Since we don't have stack sizes to start with, nor pot sizes, it is difficult to determine what a shove will induce, calculation wise, in our villains. A reasonable guess is that A-T calls. Remember that our villains will give us credit for possibly having that evil KQ combo too.
In many ways, this hand shows the essence of poker....IMHO....
