I went to my local casino here in Perth last night and sat down at a just opened 2/3 table and there was a guy sitting imediately to my left who limped in with every hand and quite rightly had some big hands busted.

He had AA flopped a set but a runner with 86o turned the straight, he then had AA again and was turned by nut flush then had QQ cracked when I had 76d and turned the straight.

Even the dealer started telling him how to play monster hands and I thought afterwards maybe he should join this forum and he could learn a few things about strategy in the game of Texas Hold'em.

Glad to know it's not just an American phenomenon. Had the same thing happen to me in AC a few weeks ago. Woman sat down short stacked and never raised preflop. Had JJ beaten and AA beaten both times by hands that would have easily folded to a preflop raise.

My example easily dumped close to 300 on the table. It was rather easy to play because whenever she bet she had a hand, if she only called she was behind or chasing.

I see limping with a monster fairly often in online poker as well. Always scratch my head about the strategy. Once in a GREAT while I see it pay off big but why would you want to take the risk of having 3, 4 or 5 players drawing out on you??

What I have noticed alot lately are players min-raising AA/KK and QQ(not as much with this hand) from UTG/EP.
So much so that it has almost become predictable as to what an UTG player has.

These people, bless their cotton socks, are what makes casino poker awesome. Oh how I wish I was rolled for it at the moment...

How many tables do they have running at the Burswood, BTW? :)

This was a perfect example of why you should play these cards aggressively. There are times to limp with them but you need to be selective and usually it is when you are trying to catch an aggressive player out on a 1 to 1.

I see a lot of this sort of thing online. I am not unhappy when I see them go down as I know how gutting it can be to have a good hand like AJo hit top pair with the J on the flop, bet and get re-raised for villain show a limped KK.
