I read a lot of article that you should treat gut-shot plus over cards just like an OESD. Does this sound right to you?

With gut-shot plus over cards you have 10 outs (4 cards to make a straight and 6 cards to get top pair). The problem is the gut-shot is the only strong part of the draw here. If you hit top pair you can still loose and there's always the chance of missing the draw. I think I've lost more money chasing gut-shot plus over cards than winning. Even if you make the gut-shot is too easy to see. What does everyone think?

If you fold that playing FLHE, you're spewing money.

I think it depends on the situation.
If you are talking about post flop you have two streets to make your hand.
Also do you have position on your opponent?
Is it HU or are you facing several players on the hand?

There are a lot factors to consider.

Normally I don't chase a gut shot, especially if I am being bet into with two more streets to go but in a fixed limit game you can at least judge what it will cost you to play it out.
