Dear friends,
I'm new to CC forum. I want to ask you guys for some advice.

I started playing poker 3 years before. and haven't been so serious about it till recently.

I deposited money online, i Play at 888.
I started with $50. and started with micro SNG and MTT. wasnt as successful at MTT's but have had a good run in the $1-40 seater SNGs. i managed to build my bankroll upto $96 and then decided to develop my cash game a bit. but I started playing SNAP (i dont know if this was a mistake or not) but i managed to build further more to $135. this was at 0.2/0.5 NLH. here i faced a bit of a downswing and my BR dropped down a bit (to $100) but i continued. recovered back up to $120 and decided to jump up a level (may be mistake again).... so now im playing 0.5/0.10 NLH but in SNAP poker. here my bankroll jumped considerably. Upto $195 in less than 3 days!!! i was extatic! and thought jumping a level more would result in higher profit!!!!! and thats exactly what i did! n i dont know how but i dropped my BR down to $140. Almost went into depression! N i know that this definitely was a mistake but i continued trying to recover my losses on the blinds where i lost it. I know this coz soon enough my BR went straight down to ZERO! I want to play poker professionally and will deposit again. but i need all your advice so that i dont bust again! please help!

Usual bankroll management for cash is up level when you have 20-30 max buyins for next level. You can jump levels but downswing will kill you with great probability.
And up level of cash only after 10k played hands and you must be sure that on current limit your winrate is +. For NL2 my winrate is 30-40 bb per 100 hands, for NL5 - 15-20, for NL10 - 5-10.

Don't move up stakes just to chase loses.

Learn BRM & variance and why BRM is important.

Probably the two best tips you could get atm given how you busted your bankroll.

Oh yeah, and there is no quick way to the top without taking high risks....rushing your way up stakes without stepping back and setling in counting yourself lucky you havn't busted yet would be good. You moved to 20nl from 10nl even though you were just barely rolled to be playing 10nl at the time, if your going to take such an agressive approach you need to be mentally able to move back to lower limits and rebuild your bankroll before losing it all.

Choose a poker tracking software and play within your bankroll. You need to slay the Jumpstakes dragon before you play.

Make it a goal to play optimal poker every single time you sit down for a session. If at any point you're not, take a break and come back.
I'll go further to say you are not "above" $2nl or $5nl, if that is a thought coming to your mind just because you've played higher stakes for a brief flash in the pan.

Do it well and do it right. Start a blog for after your sessions and share hands and thoughts. This will create accountability.

What you describe is what many people who play poker experience...... Lack of experience, understanding and knowledge about BankRoll Management. For this you need great skill at managing yourself. Take some time out to read about BankRoll management, either in a book or online (there are plenty of examples and people wanting to share good practice with you.

I also agree whole heartedly with NorskNewman above, you really have to slay that dragon, and also you have to control how you deal with losses.... Essentially but not chasing after them.

Good luck.

What is a good rule to follow when deciding what limits to play based on your bankroll? 10-20-50-100x BB?

For cash games the general rule is to have a minimum bank roll of 20 buy-insins. So, if you are playing 2NL, you would want $40.

For tournament play I think it's minimum of 50 buy-ins but I think I've heard 100 buy-ins recommended too.
