What they told me when I started playing poker was that "the only rival to win is always going to make oneself", the truth that at first only overestimated believing in my self-control that almost everyone exaggerated about the way they talked about "Tilt" and with the running of the hands played I noticed that they were right and that I had been wrong but very ugly not to take into account that the Tilt is something to always fight, that the easy solution to say that the other won because I was lucky it was just foolish to deny that my head made me play horribly.

the search for revenge against some player for having won or not having entered the pit when I had a decent hand was some of the points that I took to the Tilt. I have seen cases of people who only "revenge" winning a player lose boxes after boxes just to show that he is not playing. Stupid pride.

but back to the subject, I looked until I found a very good book that is the "mental game of poker", especially an exercise in which it consisted that when we put ourselves in tilt mode write on a sheet of paper as we felt that after several hours to read it again and we realize if we were the same or not. I must say that I did and the changes are good. improve my form of self-control which will benefit my bank.

I don't know if I actually go on tilt but I have been known to fume after a beat particularly to hands that people have no business in the hand with in the 1st place.. Depending on the extent of the beat or beats it can usually be offset with a drink or in extreme cases I take a walk..

Maybe try to play more tables, idle hands and all. Or you could try playing over-rolled then the monetary swings seem smaller. Jared Tendler also does some excellent work dealing with tilt, so maybe read some of his stuff or watch one of his videos. If all else fails take a break from poker.

ja ja ja

Of course I do not give bad life, nor does it take away the dream .. Obvious if it gives pain at the moment, but this is the game, there are happy moments and others not so much, thanks for participating in this thread.

tilting is like riding a motorcycle

There are two kinds of poker players, those that have tilted, and those that will tilt

This seems to be biggest problem for me while playing poker. Getting tilted. I used to get tilted alot, but havent really spent my own money on poker lately. I quess you only get tilted while you deposit your own money and you get bad beats, cold decks, trash hands etc.

Going on tilt is so expensive most of the times....

But I really like your approach to handle it. The fact that you realized it as a problem for you is the
Most important step in overcoming the tilt. And since you seem willing to learn and even read a good book about the subject you should soon find yourself being a much more stable player.

I think it's a problem of many players. I happen to me and my advice is to stop playing for at least an hour. If you're doing a tournament to avoid losing all the chips now it is to play simple and only premium hands

All humans have a line. With experience we can push that line further back from the surface, but it will be there.

I just tilted for the first time in months. 4 morons called all ins. All 4 sucked out on me. So I got cleaned out 4 times. I knew it was time to stop so I stopped. If I keep playing now I will definitely play bad.

Against dumb players it's up to luck, the great equalizer. When luck goes against you, your only chance is to stop.

Tag these morons and get them the next time.

Feel free to use choice words to describe them in the notes. My description of these guys are full of 3 and 4 letter words. The PC police would flog me for identifying these people truthfully.

For good players, the only obstacle is luck. But luck is invincible.

You can't remove it from poker, so you try to move around it.

For me, this is such a big problem that I can't even always determine when I'm in tilt.
Try to find yourself a poker psychology coach.

Tilt is a big problem for me to if it was for tilt I would win a hell of a lot more tourneys I run really deep in most of them then bam I get a bad beat I still have a decent stack but guess what tilt gets the best of me and instead of sucking it up and getting back to my A game I play like a dumb shit and try to get revenge on the player and guess what get sprung from the tourney from that same player playing those same dumb cards or worse. All because I didn't learn the first time to play only plus expected value hands against him and stop playing like a dummy. Just play the way I did when I built my stack in the fist place. and build it back up by playing the A game again. I need to learn to stop tilting and I would cash in more tourneys .

Are you there also? could it be then a state of mind or a label which we attach to the action of chasing some one to throw chips at them...

Lol that's how I'm beginning to see it...

I mean it cant just be the cards as they have a random arrangement, which we act on, but they say 90% of the game you never see the cards.... so that means I'm on tilt because the 10% of the hands my opponents have seen has been... Bulls**t or I mean bluff....Maybe 5% even that leads to a new question...

How many times has your opponent got to see your losing cards and assess it was a bluff (not a value bet) before he/she calls allin on you 90% of the time there after?

If Ive seen a player screw up once or twice then by the third time he is either about to take all my chips on an all in (Trapping) or im taking all his chips with an all in (Thinking he's full of BS) lol

So here we both are, Tilted again and what are we gonna do about it?

Get back on the bike dust your self off and go back with a different MIND SET as that's the only difference between the YOU now and the YOU winning a Title. obviously as long as your bankroll is still adequate.

Stop when the fun stops or when TAX becomes an issue:eek::eek::eek:

Poker is not fair, and you do not deserve to win :D
All you can do is play your best, and know that the odds sometimes
will be against you. Its all in the math and in the outcome of thousands
of hands you will see your gamestyle being profitable.

No reason to tilt over a single hand went wrong :motz:

Well, i admit that "tilting" is a problem i may never be completely rid of. How can you NOT tilt when you have a monster hand, the other guy has no business whatsoever in the hand, still he calls only to get that one outer on the river. Yeah... i smashed a few keyboards that way. Bad beats... i can handle, but stupidity... man... it's gonna make me more stupid than the other guy. Don't really think it's a thing that somebody can control. One may be able to not express himself, but deep inside, it eats you bad.
