I agree with all the advice given before me. So as I see it, there is a lot of work to do just to be a "GOOD" player. I consider myself a good player, but I have not come close to knowing about all this, even if I have been working on my game for 3 years. And that is what keeps me at my level. GL to you
Think if they wanted to pursue individuals they would have done so instead of working with pokerstars to get player funds returned to them they would have handed the list over to states for prosecution. But who knows in the future what some state attorney with too much time on his hands will do.
I'd say someone who can adapt, someone who knows the game back and forth... someone who's smart, takes calculated risks, can use position, equity, understands psychology and math behind it all and .... can be patient ^^
A good player should be able to read his/her opponents and adapt accordingly, someone that uses the odds to decide his moves and analyze position and bank roll management.
Getting a lot of money into the pot when you are ahead and folding to bad odds when you are behind. Betting when others will not. Raising when others will not.
A "good player" is a very loose or general term and can mean many different things depending on who you talk to. As reflected in the various answers in this thread. I think I preety much agree with everything that has been said. I would also add one more thing to the list and it is in my opinion the most important. A good player is someone who make EV+ decisions at all times, regardless of outcome. Also a good player should never be or become results oriented. Just my two cents.
Perseverance is a quality fundamental to any player. However, many poker players receives the title legend, but the most do not deserve. A good player, for example, knows that the money is just part of the game and does a good use his after to help others.
well im very below average player -i cant coment on being good when i turn good il come back and post some thoughts on how it feels-i think having winning roi and cash might make that person good
I think the first thing is someone studying , the second and most important is a player who can keep their emotions and how to play so despite what happens on the table
