We need some more information like what are you planning on playing? Holdem, Omaha, etc? Limit, NL, Pot limit? MTTs, Cash, SnGs? This will help in determining which books are good for you.

these two ^

If you're a beginner I'd consider first reading 'Phil Gordon's Little Green Book'.

If you plan on playing nlhe tournaments:
Harrington on Hold'em Vol. 1 & 2

My first books were two beginner books by Simon Young and Mark Strahan, then the Harrington tourney books, and later Lee Nelsons books.

Ah sorry. I'm playing Holdem NL and sticking with the cash games until I know what I'm doing!

Well cash games are different from tourney games. There are similarities but there are more differences.

For tourney books-harrington books are already enough either newbie or advance.
For cash game books- doyle brunson (but at high limit only and not micro).

Goodluck...
