Hi everyone!

I recently had a 3rd place cash on MERGE network which brought my 0$ deposit account to $145, which was a nice way to ring in the new year.

Unfortunately 9 days later my account balance is $2. I will say that I did manage my monies improperly when my account balance started to fall by continuing to play tournaments that were to much for my BR.

However, I really feel like variance has not been on my side. I have been a winning tournament player before (on ultimate bet SN CantBeBadBeat) though volume was not achieved, i only played about 200 MTTs but made a couple grand doing so.

I do not use a HUD currently, however my client (aced.com) keep hand histories for 30 days so I want to go back from New Years Day and evaluate all of the tournaments that I played and find some leaks as to why I was going busto in these games.

I am and TAG player for sure, and dont get involved when I don't need to. I rarely get my chips in the middle behind, and if they are behind... it's usually cause my opponents story is not adding up and I feel I may have him. Other times i get in behind i'm short stacked late in a game, and trying to steal blinds (i at least wait for a hand i can win with 89s, KQ, A10, etc.) I don't leave myself high and dry stealing with 84off and things like that EVER.

My overall question is... what types of things should I be looking for while evaluating hand histories since i currently do not have a hud to assist me much more easily with this process. The main focus is going to be what hands I'm losing the most amount of chips on, certain situations where i should have folded, hands that have effected VPIP though i wont be able to calculate a % or anything. I'll also be keeping track of top hands and their win rates... how often they are holding up etc...

Anyone who has some good tips to help me with evaluating my game would be very much appriciated!! Thanks in advance to all repliers. Good Luck at the tables

Look for hand where you were drawing to a hand, hands where you had a big over pair and got beat by trips, and look at hands when you have around 10 BBs. That should help you learn where you are making some mistakes.
