Hallo guys! im going to give online poker at last shot, but i don't know if i should do PLO or Spin and gos? I know it depends on what im best at, but what is the best at the time? I know spins are the the softest format for NLHE? (meaby MTT's but i don't wanna play +8hours) But what about PLO cash game?
I got 1000$ bankroll to get started.

Hope you can come with some inputs to what i should choose.

For lowest variances of poker I would recommend Double or Nothing sit n go.

S & G are giving me horrible experiences, I mean a random hand still can win over a set lol

If you can consistently win the Spin & Gos, then by all means play those.

If you really know how to play PLO and can find a game, that is certainly the way to go. Even better, find a PLO8 game.

Can I ask you a question that could have an answer that could help me with something I been thinking on awhile. Can you tell me why you are limiting yourself to those two games, when you have a starting BR that gives you a truck load of options that could allow you to profit from them just as much as those you plan to play from the start. Don't get me wrong, because I don't see anything that's wrong with playing those two games all the time without trying others. And in no way am I suggesting that you should play other games in order to use all the potenical you have to profit in a number of ways. Anyway, I'm just interested in your answer to my question. If you don't mind me asking, how long have you been playing poker?

I think PLO has one of the lowest variances in all of poker. It doesn't mathematically, because the cards are the cards. It has a low variance because the play is SO bad. In PLO8 it gets worse.

PLO would be a good choice if you know how to play it..
especially if your using HM2, you can do a leak check...

IMHO... i would play NLHE cash game but thats just me..

How long do you plan on sitting on the cash table?

If you're not getting the results you're looking for on the cash table and your willing to spend 2-3 hours at a table, then may I suggest 45 man NLHE SnGs.

If I had to make a choice between these two completely unlinked versions of poker, then I would say that your best bet would be to play PLO if you think that you are a solid player at it. The play is awful, and there is far less variance in cash games, so you can play with more money and have less of an issue with 100BI downswings... However, if you don't think that you are that competent with PLO, then you can enjoy the roller coaster ride that spins offer, and have the chance to win big. Spins are also more fun if you are planning on 1-2 tabling seeing as there is more action.

So there you go. It depends. :D:D:D

I don't like NLHE as much as i used to do, i think PLO is the right game for me!

Im gonna start to play 10K hands at PLO5 just to see how it works out.
