How could you get more value when you hit a set on the flop (no flush and straight draw on the board)? Betting structure(flop, turn, river) being not a raiser preflop..

Well debriz, I believe in slow play karma. When I flop a set I will bet it. Nothing more than two times big blind depending on table. I want people to know I have something and hope they caught something on flop also. Then I hope to get more info or help when the turn and river comes. If you slow play the set then you maybe hurting yourself on future hands with that type of table image.--r

well slow play is the way to go. position how many in the hand still to bet , blinds ,pot, but my way to go if the stacks are high ,take the hand down as soon as possible or get yourself into a lot off trouble trying to bluff the pot

It depends on what kind of players you are playing against. If they are playing aggressive and bluffing a lot, then it might be better to slow play the hand. Try to hide your set and after turn/river re-raise your opponents. In case others are playing very tight then it's probably the most profitable to bet after flop and hope someone has something.

Definitely just check on flop/turn and give him a free card.

Have to value bet on turn/river and just hope he hits.

If your opponents continuation bets oftenly then u can check-call him, and then raise on later streets.
I like to donk bet sometimes cause it definitly looks strange and not very strong.
It depends, from player to player - there is no one, correct way to play it

I thinf slow play is the best option, if you are fighting against 3 or more, bet to extract some value.

Hi Debriz. I would bet 1/2 pot size, on flop, this is because I have a bit of a loose aggressive rep, so this what people always expect from me, so why upset them by not betting..............Gl whatever you do, really depends on your style and the opponents...:D:D:D

as stapes says..you must bet your sets. always bet the flop if you were the preflop opener. you need to build a pot on the flop so your turn and river bets can be exponentially larger and potentially set up a river shove. If you're out of position and not the opener, i like check calling flop and turn and check-raising river on non-threatening boards. Unless you perceive your opponent as a weak player that will check back his value hands on the river, then i would probably go for the check raise on the turn so you can bet yourself on river.

Honestly depends how deep you are. You can only afford to slow play later in the tourney, unless you're certain that the opponent(s) will show aggression, otherwise you must be the one to. This being said, definitely check or entice bet later in a tourney.

Most professionals say you should lead out when you hit a flopped set on a rainbow safe board. I agree with this, If you dont get calls, oh well, but if you do get a call or a rasie you are able to easily set it up for a good pay off. The way you should do it is usually bet somewhere between 1/3 to 2/3 pot size bet on the flop representing something like mid pair or even top pair weak kicker. If you get raised by someone with an overpair or a strong top pair you have a few options, you could 3 bet the flop coming over the top if you think youw ill get called and it is a looser more agressive beginner player, if you think they are a tigher player and more conservative you may want to just call the flop reraise and then check raise the turn if at all possible. That is usually my favorite way to play a flopped set to a rainbow board, you will either trap the chips on the turn if they pick up any extra draws on the turn and if not you will get probably end up getting paid the max. I do not like check raising the flop in this situation, it just shows too much strength in your hand and you should utilize that move more often when there are draws on the board. this way it gives you some options if someone calls the check raise and hits the draw ont he board and if not you can push them really hard on the turn to get them off the draw. But if it is a rainbow safe board i would strongly suggest leading out to get max value from the hand, especially if there are a lot of poeple in the hand. If there are fewer people and they play tight i may think of playing it a different way, letting them catch up a little to get max value from your set, but for the most part lead out in a way that doesnt come off too strong or too weak. Good luck.

theres never any fixed way of playing any hand. u need to be paying attention to the players at the table. if the board is super dry, checking is good. maybe they pick up some draws on the turn and if they are calling station type players bet big pot sized bets
