I went to live tournament recently and played a hand a, 9 off on the button.
3 people into the Flop comes out 3 clubs with k 9 7. checks around to me and I got nut flush draw with a of clubs. I raise what pre-flop raise was 500 chips. (starting stack was 6500) . Big blind raises me to 1500. Should i have folded there? i was scared he hit a set or something. But i realized afterward I could have gambled there and potentially doubled up. As i bled out 3 or 4 big blinds later. Was folding the right call?

I think you should've checked it. It's likely someone flopped it if they check raised like that (J10 maybe). If they had a set, they would have led out in fear that someone would catch it on the turn or river. Since you did bet it, I'd toss after the raise since you are currently dominated although you have a solid draw.

Since it's possible your opponent had two clubs, you most likely had seven outs, and less if he had a str8 flush draw. Under the circumstances I think you did the right thing, but calling an extra 1,000, depending on what the pot was at, wouldn't have been a terrible play.

You don't mention the pot size preflop, but I'm guessing the math would have supported a call and then reevaluate on the turn. 36% to pull the flush so another 1k to call was probably worth it.

I would say either a) fold or b) come over the top and get it in on the flop.

Just calling hoping for a club on the turn is bad. your odds of hitting that are 4:1 against. If you get it in on the flop, you are then 2:1 against making your flush,

I would say go all in after his raise. Then he must think you have the nuts. Big chance he will fold and otherwise you still can hit a club on the turn or the river.
