Heya everybody,

I was wondering, like many others probably, how to make the most money. Ofcourse by playing good, but I still got some questions. Let me introduce myself a bit first :p

I'm Sleight, playing on fulltilt with, too bad, no money on my account. Never made a deposit, once won $2 in a freeroll but lost it at the ringtables. I'm quite a newb, like, I have heard about preflop raise, but I'm not really good at estimating other peoples hands yet. But that's about the game play. First I was thinking about the general strategy to get a bankroll started.

So ofcourse I'm first looking for freerolls, and once I've got enough money I'll go and see what works best for increasing the bankroll.
So far I've found these:

-The FTP Dutch 100$ freeroll. Has about 1000 players, 27 people get money and 27th place is $2. Takes about 3-4 hours to get to 27 people. And it's daily. (This is where I got my $2 once, also got to <100 several times. Not great chances but compared to 2nd freeroll this takes way less time :p)

-The 500k playchip 40$ freeroll. Has about 50 people, 18 get paid, 18th gets $2. Also daily. Never participated yet, because atm I've got only 500k playchips. I was planning on first reaching about 5-10million playchips before playing those.

-And maybe later I'll be able to play at the cardschat freerolls, but that might take some time :p

So my general focus is on getting playchips, and now and then trying to get some money in the Dutch freeroll. I was planning on getting about 10 dollars this time before doing anything with that money, since once I've got enough playchips I can play that 500k playchips freeroll about every day, and 10 dollars can handle some more bad beats than just 2 dollars.

So my first point is, what do you guys think about this strategy? Anyone knows better chances at starting a bankroll at fulltilt or would you guys agree with this?

Grtz,
Sleight

There are sites where you can get a free deposit to use, including one where you have to pass a quiz and then they give you a free $50 but you have to sign up to the poker room through their site. Probably worth looking into.

the sats to the daily dollar are 30 cent 9 player sng's top 3 win a ticket to daily dollar, worth a dollar, you can unregister and you get onr tournament dollar in your account, these are very soft games and a good way to build from a small roll

@pobe27mo
I don't really know about that, but I'm more like playing for fun and learning, for the challenge. Not really to get some real money because I probably won't ever reach much :p
Since I like ftp quite much and I have tried some other sites which I didn't like that much, and I bet that those free bankrolls are on smaller (and more boring) sites. So I'm really looking to get a bankroll on FTP, not just any site.

@midgetfactory
Well, I didn't know about that yet, and I sure will check it out later, but first I was thinking about freerolls since I don't have 30 cents yet :p

I think its only top 2 get a ticket worth a dollar and third gets your buy-in back minus rake.

Yes that appears true. But are there any people here who got a bankroll started on fulltilt by freerolls? Must be a few at least right?

The advice of getting a free money bankroll on other sites was good advice. Once you clear their requirements you can transfer that money to FT.

Best way of course us frerrolls which you hbe already mention but you have to play very hard because as its freeroll and so many people play at freerolls and most of them are bingo players .. You have to play with very good hands at the early phase of tournaments

I really hate freerolls because you always get sucked out badly. Once you get money you won't get sucked out a lot but usually to win a freeroll you have to suck someone else as well or get a couple. I know this because I won a freeroll and a couple of times people got sucked out badly.

You can also try the 5k$ freeroll from FTP Academy

Its a long run, but if u get into the bubble u can get anything from 5 to 17.5 $ or so.

Time for a massive reply then :p

@ genleemb
Can you also just transfer the money directly from 1 site to another without using my personal bank account? Because I don't really trust those small sites then xD

@physiotherapist
Well actually in the first +-20 minutes I play lots of allins to get a nice start. If I lose, I don't care because tomorrow will be another one and I barely spent any time on it. If I win I've got a good start :p
Especially when going from 1000 people to 27 people a good start will come in nice since I'm not that skilled as a poker player.

@ballers101
Well I don't hate freerolls :) Why hate em, it's for free? :p

@OzExorcist
Thx for help, although I've heard some part / thought some up myself still quite usefull :p

@ Amroth
Never heard of that one yet. I'll go and check it out, as soon as the fulltilt site is back online... xD

So I've got some good freerolls now, and this takes me to my second problem, getting lots of playing chips. I've been getting from 1000 -> about 250k with some SnG's and especially, with a nice bug that allows me to gain 1000 chips every 5 mins. Found out that SnG isn't really my thing, and I like ringgames better. But I still haven't seen enough to give up on SnG's though. Then from about 250k to about 500k I think (can't check because fulltilt is offline :mad:) I've been playing ringgames and tried several things, and found out that just normal ringgames with low stakes are best :p
But I've heard people say that it's way easier to win at omaha, or even saying that they win quite often at omaha and lose quite often at holdem. So I'm considering learning omaha too (I know the rules but not the tactics) but can anybody say something about this? If it's true then why wouldn't I play omaha right? :p

Hi Sleight, the good freerolls for starting a bankroll would be the bankrollmob private freerolls, it may take a while to make a couple bucks from them, but they run many tournys a day, they are only 25$ tournys ranging from 500-1500 ppl (depends on the time of day). for the tournys with about 1000+ ppl in it, 153places get paid, it may be only a few cents you win, but it will add up fast. But unfortunatly its to late to give you this info because FullTilt license has been suspended.

Yes I only noticed about 10 minutes ago :p

So now directly ontopic again, I'm gonna look for a new site. What I've found is, that pokerstrategy.com gives away 50dollars no deposit bonusses on any site, so also on pokerstars which I was planning to play on in the future. Anybody who has got any positive/negative experience with pokerstrategy.com ?

Well it's $50 free so nothing really negative to say. You have to sign up for the site you choose to have the $50 on through their links and you have to pass the quiz. They do an ID check before they give out the $50 but it's all pretty straightforward and a great deal. Too bad I took mine at FullTilt:(

It's funny because that's actually the best possible advice you can get. It's difficult to win Freerolls, you gotta get really lucky. But remember someone has to win right lol
