When playing I find it is best to try to get information on preflop and post flop areas by doing some things i think most player save for when they have big hands and try to trap. Like the Check Raise when did you last use a check raise and was it only when you had a big hand and now you put it away until the next big hand ? Why and what would one use a check raise for , and what information can one get from a check raise ? Does the check raise do any thing to the table dynamics ? Can On bluff or semi bluff using the check raise ? How come i dont see it used much at the tables except when a player has a big hand and now all of a sundden thinks they can trap you for more chips with that ?
Getting information preflop and post flop by playing differently and trying different moves to see and find out how others will react to you and your moves helps make how I will play certain players easier and the chips easier to get . If we wait to find this information out until say we have a monster how do we really know how some one will act or react to our play and can we set up a trap or a move for later in the hand that will pay off ? Try checking the turn when you know you have the other player beat , I bet he calls and pays you off on the river as long as the river card doesnt scare him/her away .
I find it hard to play the player if you dont understand how to play their style or test them to see how they play. If you can gather good information and know how to play the player styles and now you add your cards and position with that you should do pretty good out there at them there tables.

Knowing what information whe are asking for at the tables and having the abilty to recieve it ( catch the information ) when it is put out there. Funny how that is but until I sat down with a good freind of mine who helped me understand a lot of things about poker I was missing tons of information and what it ment .
