I have been playing in many freerolls lately determined to get real money in my account. In all of the freerolls many of the players are maniacs going all in with hands like 5 2 or 6 10. Usually when I play and I get a good hand I will go all in and someone will call me with and awful hand and sometimes bad beat me. Most the time I will lose after going all in a couple times and getting bad beated. I don't know what to do play tight and go all in with only pocket pairs or if I hit the flop? Or play aggresive and hope to get lucky?

personally , when I started off playing free rolls , I realized what a grind it was to sit back and wait for monster hands before being able to play, so I changed my style a bit. I would shove with any 2 decent looking cards and hope to triple up or better.

If I managed to get it right, well, bonus then I have a stack worth playing with and investing my time with, otherwise I just wait for the next one.

Its too painful to start off a freeroll with over 1000 people and grind it out for hours not being able to make moves, and just folding away.

Your time is worth a whole lot more than that. Seriously.

It can be a grind, but if you're going to bother playing in the freerolls IMO it's worth it to play a little tight in the first hour or so and wait for a monster that you can pop the multitudes of shovers with.

As far as the time involved, I guess each player should ask themselves why they are playing in the FRs to begin with? I would think most play either just for grins or in an attempt to build a bankroll when they are not wanting or able to make their own cash deposits. After all, if you do already have a bankroll, there are many other ways that you can spend your time that can be more profitable for a smaller amount of time spent, right? But if a FR is your only option for working on a bankroll, then you need to be preared to invest quite a bit of time in each one if you are actually going to play in order to finish in the money (which obv. the players going all-in with 7-2os are NOT).

Besides, after the first hour or so, even a FR starts to feel more like a regular tourney once the herd gets thinned out by poker Darwinism! Then it becomes more fun and less of a grind!

All in in frerolls

Many times I push all in with the monters hand and many times I lost wuth this hands.
Another day I needed to go to work and then I pushed all in all the hands. I won much hands and I earned 30,000 chips.
When we had much chips the cards help us.

The only benefiting way of playing these freerolls is IMO to slowball the first hour, in other words to keep the pots small when you ´re not sure you´re ahead and cant call of the donk-allin at the river. This goes for hands like Q-J on a Q-10-4 board or simular, whenever you do get monsters like KK you should powerplay them without any exceptions. I dont think powerplaying hands like AK,AQ is a good idea in freerolls as the chances of you getting called are pretty big and no matter what 2 lower cards call, you still will lose 3-4 out of 10 when you´re up against only one opponent now imagine 3-4 donks calling...you´re Big Slick aint thast big anymore...

Freerolls is just a different animal. If there's more than a few hundred people entered I'm definetly gonna play like a donk. 300 or less I'm gonna play to cash and/or win like I would a real money tourney.

I like the FR's and usually play the 2700 person FR at Full-Tilt. It is a tough grind. I haven't made it to the money yet, but I have finished in the top 100 several times, so I know I am getting close. What I like about the FR's is that around the 270 person mark the game changes significantly. Most of the landmines are long gone and you start to see some form of a real poker game!! You really need to have a complete game to do well in the FR's. Each facet of your game is going to be test from hand selection, to stealing blinds/antes, draws, bluffs. Even at this level, if you have any leaks in your game they are going to be exposed to you.
