Hello! Anyone have some tips to play freerolls with a big field like more than 4000 players? Let's discuss this? How can you start the tournament? Tight? Agressive? Tight agressive? ...

In case if you really want to achieve a good place there play tight first. Wait until the gamblers are out.

When your intention is to win a freeroll, then your opponents impose the strategy you need to use: aggression, you have to play poker with a hammer.

Only play strong hands.
It makes big bets and big increases. Larger than a normal game.
When you have a good hand, then attack.
If you have nothing, leave. Do not bluff.

At the beginning, you should play very tight, dont risk anything with weak or mediocre hands.

Lateron you are forced to play more loose because of the blinds rising

If you play the 25+ or the one for all members on CardsChat you have no reason to worry for other freerolls , they are simple the best :) .I play them tight aggressive and wait for the right spots to raise the pot and earn some chips .
But if you play other freerolls with 4000 or more participants , it really depends on many factors . Like on the chips you're starting with (the less chips you have the more loose you are forced to play ) , if you have doubled/tripled early your stack (so you can play more hands of a wider range from more positions ) , the blind levels duration (the more time you have until the next blind level the more you can play TAG and 10% or 15% of your range , but it all has to do if the others are very loose or TAGs on the table so you adjust your style , with loose aggressive I play TAG (you are carefull with the garbage cards they play) , but with TAGs , TAG and semi loose , some hands cheap I limp if I can or I mini raise , in position , to steal blinds etc , :) ) . That's how I play .

Play premium hands, be patient and gets some luck, especially early. Dont be surprised if you see KK lose to 83o every now and then early in tournaments.

play tight aggresive with strong hands. dont try to bluff against loose players and try to see as many flops as possible when you are in good position with a decent hand like a small pair or suited connectors and nobody makes a big raise because when you hit a good flop you are going to win lot of chips from villains.

Even though large fields can be loose, many times you will find that your table isn't that way at all. Tight aggressive to start and then adjust to your table.

Large fields I play very tight and super aggressive with good hands. Any decent player sees through this but there are tons of fish who will pay you off.

That's true, there is plenty of fish on the sea in those 5 thousand ppl tournaments, when the moment comes they will feed you with cheap hands that should've been folded

Playing tight and aggressive early is the best advice. But some of us mere mortals can go many hands without ever seeing a decent starting hand, and then that completely misses the board or flops someone else a boat. Bye Bye Tournament as the blinds have now whacked the crap out you.

If you can, get all your chips in the middle inside the first 10 hands, you double, you can breathe, you miss, no need to sit there for hours any longer waiting for 2 cents.

Go big or go home.

Now that is my 2 cents.

Playing only premium hands in the first stage of the tournament, it is important to have aggression and position

I don't play very many freeroll so I really don't have any advice there but this is a fact that you could try. The players that have the best advice you can get is from freeroll players. New players don't have a clue but they are that cause of serious mistakes without even knowing it. Then there are the good up to the best players one the forum. They are like me, and could care less about freerolls unless one has some value in it worth the time.then they will play it but without the know how that the reg freeroll players have and they are ready and more than willing to show you some tricks at the table only. And the reg freeroll players play plenty of other games when there is nothing else. So seek out those freeroll players and they will be more than willing to give you any advice they can. You can't pay much attention to me Since I made out like the advice here is like below 0 I always do some back tracking and fix the shit I just ****ed up in less than an hour.If any member needs advice ask for it and shortly you will have two or three opinions that you can take to the bank, One thing a player should understand before using the advice.Whatever you get from any member here, there is no good, bad, worth thinking on some more. If anyone tells you that they know nothing but a way to play that you will always come out on top look him it the eyes and it's not me then you can let it be known and it will be looked in to, or you just turn around and run like hell. I wish I had done that run many years ago but right now CC and poker is what I do so it's my life no matter,oh hell The damn truth is that I love my life. And I'm getting close to being able to upgrade my old computer to a fancy rig that br here years after I'm gone, It nothing but doing something that might put a little life back into a very needed place. After the what good is it. One thing for sure, I can't eat a $700 computer so in the long run nothing but water and food has real value. If some one did get real craxy amd did some why get a keyboard down in there. My only thought concerning the stupid shit Is that I want to be in a good view so I can witness what happens to and man that ate a keyboard and now it's time to take a shit which has been out of the question until now

In my opinion it's all a matter of what kind of freeroll tournament it is.

if it's a superturbo like most of 888's you'll have to be quite agressive from the start to the end, because no matter how you do you will have less than 10 BB's and to just refer to PS poker school almost anyhand is a valid hand, you just have to play your position in order to get as much out of it as possible!

If you would play a slow tournament, then you should be super careful in the beguinning. Alot of players go for okey either i double up a few times or it's not worth my time. Which means you can face literally anything. Just play safe and then smart after the first hour.

I agree very much with this statement

Wait for the maniacs to die out and get settled in before making moves. Try to get to know each players play style atleast a little bit before you make big moves, they can be extremely different, some players will bet middle pair pretty heavily and if you didn't know any better you would likely fold but this can be a great opportunity for a fat stack in freerolls
