Hold'em Free-Roll Strategies. How do you play?

Having played a few free-rolls during down time at work i noticed just how different people play. Curious what everyone's strategies in free-role are? It's so vastly different the way everyone bets without a care until later game.

I have had really good success so far making others think they have the upper by not betting and checking till last two flops. Raising their bets against me each time.

I have been told most just all-in every good hand they get and cross their fingers. Eventually stacking 5k+ off the bat and just sitting back till late game.

What are your strategies in free-role? Especially low stacked approaching late game. My biggest issue is i can hang on with a mid sized chip stack till last 20-50players. Then just fall out to the bug guys bully betting.

Side note: How do you guys call on trying for straights/flushes? Everytime i have the perfect hand to nail one it fails. Every-time i fold crap it nails it last flop on a big pot.

I honestly switch it up all the time, usually playing slightly looser at first depending on when next tourney starts, and then just switch it up the rest of the game depending on player im vs style. I have had moderate success, I currently have 13.75 I built from nothing in just under a week. Goal is to get to 50 and then start playing .01.02

So.... I am always getting sucked out in freerolls. Of course its not a big deal bc they don't cost anything, but I'm still curious as to why I can't ever cash out in them. Does anyone ever cash in them??? And how...?

if I have a flush I analyze the rival before. If he or she is loose then I raise or all in. On the other hand, if he is tight, I am more conservative.

I noticed a lot of people adopt a more agressive strategy in the beggining, since they have nothing to lose because they didn't put any money to play.

Sometimes it's really a nice strategy, specially if you are lucky to be dealt a monster hand like AA, KK, QQ, AK and JJ maybe. If you go all-in, some guy will definetely call in the first 15 minutes of the game, so you can have a comfortable situation..

i win freerolls daily a lot of times first place each day. I am aggressive with good hands i mix it up and push hands and a lot of people continue to call me down that is amazing. I dont know how many freerolls I play a day but its a lot. with full flush pops and freerolls and bol or sportsbetting. I dont do a lot of freerolls on wpn mostly play micro stakes right now there. Build a role and moss ate up my bank lol. But had some good finishes and was a lot of fun:)

best money moss was 60.00... paid some bigger buy ins walked out of 6 events that bought into where had some things had to do:( but again was fun.

Freerolls you should play same as regular game. Like I said I think im very hard to play against cause I will play 98 like aces and mix it up and I push.

I think a lot of people play timid have betting patterns etc.. So just have fun is first suggestion than learn when you have to make moves and do this enough times till it becomes automatic. I play up to 12 events at a time dont like to though six is happy spot but sometimes get stuck into too many cause of how well im playing.

write good notes take time to learn your field etc. so recognize who can and cant pick on and whom weaker players are who will always call etc...

SIR I know that every single time your opponents chase a straight/flush they do NOT hit their hands. Just as I know that every time you chase a straight/flush you do NOT miss. It may seem that way for you, but in reality it is NEVER that way long term.

I agree that playing a freeroll kind of tight in the beginning is the best option, while loosening your play later on. It sounds like if you are get bullied around by big chip stacks late in the tourney that you haven't accumulated enough chips earlier on.

You mention checking the "last 2 flops", there is only one flop in NL Hold'em. I think you mean you check the "last 2 streets". Also when you check & then raise their bet against you it is called "check-raising".

I try to play freerolls tight, and with the arrival of good kombinatsyi do trap raises check rates do each time differently what would the enemy could not guess what I play, sometimes bluff when the board comes to a very good card and I have nothing and for steel plays a large number of players make the average rate and review what happens

I mostly sit out few hands. When table is getting cleaner from players going all in every hand, i wait for proper hand. With proper hand i dont bet till turn.
Slowly building bank with 2 raises and after river going in bigger. Remaining freeloaders either call wih bad hand or call and i hope for my luck :D

I win a ticket of 0.25 spin & go, so I played and achieve win and got 0.50 ... and there I started to play tournaments 0.2 to whet little capital aunq it is very difficult, especially porq not understand there are so many crazy people playing and all they do is go all in on almost every hand ...

Don´t play trash hands, pay the minimum to play draw and wait patiently to have monsters hands and then go all in.

I'm agressive with aces n kings, with weak hands I'm prudent, when needed.

You get a lot of people who play loosly in freerolls def is the prize is very low. People I think just play by luck. Those games arent taken seriously!

if I also believe that, do not take your hands seriously and play to luck, but really eh I had hands that have AK in preflop and I earn someone goes all-in with pocket 6 .. .

I have the same issue. Most player in tourneys just shove all-in pre-flop. So I tried doing the same with monster pair then shift mid-game to a wider range playing aggressive.

Don't busted on early stage it is the best strategy for me so far, do not all in even you holding AA or KK , sometimes those hands can cracked by trash.
play tight and agrresive :)
