Is that ever a good play?

Let's say it's the first hand of the wsop main event and a player went all in in early position and you have KK. Would you fold it?

In my opinion, folding kk pre flop is wrong, if my opponent have aces, whatever, gg, that's a cooler.

I think it is reasonable to fold KK preflop. Its great hand, but it's still behind aces. I would never fold AA, but I would consider folding KK as I would know that I might be behind. Tough fold thou..

Sure it is, if you are absolutely certain someone has AA.

How can you be sure someone has AA unless they show you? I have my doubts that someone with AA would shove, where's the value in that? I'm calling because I'm likely ahead.

The chance of you having KK, while your opponent has AA, and you KNOWING that he has AA, is quite slim. Obviously, if you know you are beat, why take the chances?

But this kind of move is not in my arsenal. I admit it. Not preflop.

The only way that I fold KK preflop that I have read about Villian. If i know that he is a realy tight passive player and he 4-bet or 5-bet it`s probaly an AA.
Other ways snap call and hope. :D

I have often been busted running my KK into AA.

In a freeroll I would call if I am against a random and hope to DU early. In a WSOP game, I doubt this would even happen, but if it did and I was against a player that I knew only did this with AA then I would fold. Like I said though I can't see someone who pays to play in a WSOP would even shove with AA, I believe that would only happen if the fee cost them nothing.

I mainly play freerolls and low cost tournaments, thats why I never fold KK preflop. I do not reraise with them . I call and if the flop doesn't contain Ace I change to very agressive.

no and yes. if there is 1 player against you, you should, not fold as there is only 1 hand that is better.
if there are a few all-in players you might fold as you pair is now beaten by weird dros
yeah, sure, you will get a cooler here and there, but it's poker you can not not catch them =) but giving some A8s a chans to get in the pot for 3.5bb bet is wrong as I see it

PS. i dont think I ever fold KK PRF if there are 3 players or less in the pot

I think it depends on the situation. There is a big disparity between AA and KK. Losing with AA takes a lot more help on the board. KK is vulnerable. If you are on a bubble you may fold. If you would have to put all your chips in a multi-way pot it could be considered (KK is certainly weaker against more players rather than heads up). Some people NEVER fold KK preflop, which I think is supported also, but it could be warranted sometimes (not often).
