Floating the flop is a good move to have at your disposal.

Say you are playing a guy who likes to CB a tonne of hands on the flop but he gives up on the turn. We can float the flop and if he checks we can put out a bet and win the pot right there.

Lets say villain has a 69% CB on flop and turn is CB is 40%, we can profitably float the flop on this guy a lot and take away on the turn.

Bear in mind this move is best when we have position on our opponent and it is HU!!

If you don't use a hud then just watch your opponent and note how many times he/she CB's on the flop to just x/f on the turn.

Hi Everton Girl..

Hope you are doing well, despite not the nest start to the footie season for you.

Its always a good move to assess how your opponents are playing and playing the way you described is not only profitable it makes for a much funner experience.

Thanks

BB

You are correct, floating can be a good weapon against this type of player.

He should adjust to your floating by:

1. Bet the turn as a bluff

2. Check the turn with a made hand after the CB on the flop

3. Raise you on the turn if you often float and bet as a bluff

4. CB less in general with draws and weak hands if he is not willing to barrel or bluff the turn (or the river).

It is always a game of changing and adapting if you think someone is trying to exploit you.

Be like water: change all the time dependent on your opponents style. Game flow and image should never be constant.

Good move... gets even more powerful when you were able to manifest a tight image at the table and have shown really strong hands when you made bets on later streets.
But you also musst be willing to give up when villain calls or even re-raises. Even players with inssane CB stats flop the nuts sometimes ;)
