Hey,
I'm new to the Forum and that is my first post.
I play poker since 1 year and now I'm interested to play with real money. I registered at pokerstars 2 weeks ago and since there I play with play money.
Now I want to make my first deposit and use the Free20 Promotion.
So with a bankroll of 40$ I'm unsure how to start.
I thought about the 0.10$ 360 Players Turbo SNG, the 0.25$ 90 Players SNG or the 0.25$ 45 Players SNG?
What would you recommend?
I also study a lot poker theory. So I know Outs and odds, a bit about the ICM and I follow the equilibrium push-or-fold strategy.
I can use Semi-Bluffs as well as Blocking Bets and things like that.
What's your opinion? Can I beat that limits?
Best wishes

Sure give it a shot and see how you do. It's not difficult to beat those games so it's entirely possible you end up having a lot of success with them. Maybe try to go with something you have the most familiarity and experience with. Like if you're used to single table SnGs for example the 360 player ones might not be the best place to start. Anyway welcome to the boards.

Thank you for the fast answers!
But the SNG DoN Start at 3.50$. I think that's not in my bankroll at the beginning. I prefer a brm from over 100 Buy-Ins!
Another problem with STT is: they start at 1.50$ (also not in my bankroll)

DoN's are played quite a bit differently than regular STT's, because in those it's about survival rather than trying to accumulate all the chips in play. If you don't have the bankroll for any STT's then just go for the cheapest MTT's and do your best. I would recommend playing the games that allow you to gain the most experience and see the greatest number of hands for the least amount of money invested.

Play whatever type of small buyin you enjoy most / feel like at any given moment. If you don't know yet, try a few of each to find out. When you're playing with such a small BR, your main focus should be on improving your game. Trying to find which type of game will let you have a slightly higher win rate isn't worth much attention until you improve enough to move up and play quite a bit higher.

What do you mean with improve my game. Do you mean more the mathematically, theoretically aspect or that I should just play to get experience?

Improving your game is about knowing more and applying what you know more effectively. Playing just to get experience isn't likely to improve your game as quickly or as much as finding out what the holes and leaks in your game are and then working on those things at the tables.

I think your plan is sound, assuming you can still pay your rent if you lose all $40. You will learn so much more about the game once you start playing for real money - even at the low stakes. You'll undoubtedly make some mistakes, but you are take a good approach by starting small.

Welcome to the Forum. My advice don't play high stakes, it's not worth losing that much just to learn the game
