Ok, it took me about 30 seconds to realise that in freerolls the maniac is king (Yes I am a slow learner) Which site do you folks feal is the best site for my first buy in?

Also, at what point can I expect to get real players and not just ATC idiots? (Both ring games and tournements)

General recommendation: pokerstars. Biggest site, most traffic, good support, stakes down to 0.01/0.02 ring and $1 tournaments.

The lowest stakes won't be much different from freerolls and play money, but with $50 you won't be bankrolled for much more yet, unless you're willing to back that first $50 up with more "entertainment" monies in the future.

I'd go with pokerstars too. I lost 100$ to fulltilt and pokerstars has better support for getting your cash out.

PS has micro limit games, FT doesn't. I'd definitely recommend PS fopr that reason alone. In addition, the rake on micro SNGs is higher at FT.
However, and I have no hard info to back this up, I've heard the tournaments are a bit easier to beat on FT. Anyone know?

Need more info, eg. what games do you prefer, cash tables sng's or mtt's, experience, intentions?

Good luck to you man, I have to say my first 50$ deposit was very crappy. I decided to play on Fulltilt and I wanted to try a cash game.... Lets just say that was not the smartest move in the world.

I dont think Ive ever lost 50 dollars that quick in my life haha. Next time I do so I will most def go into the smaller tourney's. I always read and was told never put to much of your bankroll into one game... well I didnt listen lol. I figured I could maybe get lucky and double then start going small for a while.... needless to say that didnt go so well.

I have played on much different sites but the best is PokerStars. Also a nice freeroll for beginners is the $100 dollar freeroll on Bestpoker (Monday till Friday)...

ok so first deposits are the worst lol. all i can say is take you time and set limits and for god sakes dont do like i did and drink while playing. i stared with 25 bucks on ub and the next 3 hours were so bad that when i checked my bank account the next day i was 500 dollars to the neg. biggest lesson ive ever learned.

i think you should start with 2$ buy-ins until you win some money to move up. hen u have a 250$ you can start small cash tables. My opinion...
