My fiance' went to the movies and I've been on an unlucky streak here lately so I decided to play one of the Ultimatebet donkfests. 5001 people entered the 5000 Ultimate Points freeroll for UB Ultimate Points so it looked pretty grim from the git-go.

Within the first hour I had cleared my first two tables of donkeys and they kept moving me to new tables. At the first break I was up to about 30k in chips. I made it as high as 46k before I took a spill all the way down to 5k.

I stayed on my game and not long after brought it back up to around 75k and then I went on a roll after the second break. I moved into the top five with around 225k and then slowly stole blinds and caught pots till after the third break. Then I was around 500k and took another spill down to 225k. I tightened up a little and brought it back to over 800k when I caught two pr on the flop and went big against one villian. He fished it and caught a str8 on the flop knocking me down to last place with 82k in chips. At that point I was just looking for something to push with and found it...but lost it! LOL

For having that many people start the tourney and myself keeping my game intact and keeping my 30-35% hand seen goal I feel great.

I came in 11th place for 100pts (not much, but I'm happy with it).

Good job. Those huge freerolls on UB are sometimes fun, but they can be really difficult with all of the donks on there, but who can blame them. They aren't putting any money up for it so why not go all in pre-flop with pocket 3s, lol. They can be a lot of fun trying to get a read on some of those people though.
Well hey, 100pts isn't much, but if you had any bonus $ pending you just got $5 too, still not much, but it was free. Take it easy.

I made final table (6th place) in a Stud 8 tournament today on Ultimatebet too. 50 players, 3$ BI, won 13$... Not amazing, but if my split queens had held up I'd have been like 20$+.

You can play your points for money games, rick. They are 100pts per dollar against your buy in and rake.

Hamm, I can see their point in "what's at stake", but that's not poker... it's bingo. I take the freerolls just as seriously and still placed. And everyone that I had marked as a LAG or donk or fish was out before the last 100. If you pay attention you don't usually see the guy who has 20k in chips before the first break anywhere near the final table. He gets the chips, and has the lead, but he doesn't know how to keep them.

Oh, I agree with you 100%, they do play like every hand is a coin-toss and the chip leader for the first 2 breaks is rarely in the money because they don't truly know how to play. I am the same way, I try to take every tournament that I enter play like it was the top.

Great job, 11th place out of 5000 in a donkroll is a good accomplishment. Sure, 100 pts doesn't seem like much, but just think of all the great donk-destroying experience you gained?

That was the real win, iamays! The points were great after spending that much time (around 5 hours), but just the thought of using my game plan and beating out almost 5000 others was awesome.

lol, wow great job m8! Im rubbish at them donk fest games because i always get bad beats! I use them as something to pass time because they are fun if you do well!

But well done. 30K on first break. Needing quite of luck for that i guess! ;)

That game was a bit of luck.

But I played in one of UB's tourneys for Bonus Dollars today and took 10th. That one was all about patience! My cards were not the greatest I've ever seen. I think my highest hand was QQ through the whole tourney.

Congrats! I finally made it to 21st place and received entry to another freeroll. Got knocked offline and couldn't get back in time to finish tourney. Bummer.
