So at long last and about a week later then I'd hoped I have gotten over $200 and am now ready to play $10 NL. I made this most recent jump playing 3.40 18 man turbo SNGs, but I would like to get back into cash, 5nl was just frustrating me. That being said, do any of you micro cash vets have suggestions on this new limit?

10nl isn't much different then 5nl, really. You'll see a little bit of tighter play, and maybe a little extra 3-betting.

Otherwise, just multitable (increase your hands/hr) and play solid ABC poker.

Congrats on hitting this goal.

Really depend on table whether you see some of the few decent 10nl players or pull your hair out because they are so similar to lower players.

Take your time, learn to play your A game as much as possible and keep learning

Depends on if you're multitabling a lot. I can do 6 tables FR, but usually only do 4 for 6-max

Hmm I feel like it would be a worthwhile switch, perhaps I'll look into it.

I found 10NL to be kind of useless. The play is very similar to the 5nl players, so you should want to play the 10 dollar stacks at 5nl tables to let poor opponents make bigger mistakes with deeper stacks. My winrate at 5NL was absurdly high because of this factor. You get to play your big hands in bigger pots with, although maybe only slightly, worse players.

10nl is very easy to beat in my experience. My win rate there was really high. So high that I only needed to play it for about 2 days before I was rolled for 25nl. 25nl is slightly more tricky and for some reason ive always had more success at 50nl than 25nl. Good luck to you.

I would propose to try at nl25 instead, it's more worth. juz play solid poker. be prepared to lay dwn ur JJ when Q is on flop n som1 bet pot zie or 3 bet u. stay tight... Nl10 is too slow unless u doing 8 tabling...

NL10 is pretty much the same as NL5 in that people will pay you off pretty often when you have big hands. So you can win pretty consistently by playing solid poker and waiting for people to stack off against you.

Haha this is no longer an issue as I donked off half my roll, I'll be back, eventually.

I hope you're back soon, i'm just starting to play 10nl so talking about the play would be cool.
It's pretty much the same though a bit more aggro. They also get spewy post-flop and you can more effectively isolate and take advantage of players.

Related topic, when I was playing ring games and trying to move from 10nl to 25nl awhile ago, I wished there was 15nl LoL to make the transition easier. With the new euro tables at pokerstars, you can convert some money at the 0.66 rate and play .05/.10 euro as a step in between.

I strongly advocate for rocking a loose passive approach, and sniping stacks at the deep tables will a max buy in stack. Winrates in the 15BB/100h area are totally sustainable at 5nl deep. Grind grind grind. Then try short stacking via the standard guidelines of tight uber-aggression for a short while to acclimate yourself to aggression in preparation for 25NL. Because your loose passive that rocked 5nl will get eaten alive there.

Congrats on getting over $200, but unfortunately didn't have success at the $10 tables. Maybe you should play in those $5.50 single or multi table tourneys and $5 cash tables. Best of luck and hopefully you don't go broke soon. :)

I read this, and I wonder how 10NL will be any different... its the same game, its not like doubling the size of the big blind changes much of anything. Hearing that you donked off half your roll doesn't really come as a surprise...

I would say that a large and significant difference is that on stars the 5NL tables are all deep stack, whereas they are not at 10NL. Deep stack vs standard stack is definitly a game changer, in terms of optimal play at least.
