What's happening? Maybe this illness? As soon as I get to the final table is also starting to spend a stack, and is constantly on the 5-8 place (((

I actually just got done reading Egons Final Table write up and would strongly reccomend following that closely.

Its all about being patient, stealing, and knowing when its your turn to take a shot.

Good Luck.

Not sure if it's in the suggested thread... .but... something I see alot of players making a mistake with is, while they're sitting on 12-18bb's they open with a raise and then fold to a reraise. If you're going to open with a stack of that size (if there are others who are alot deeper obv) then you really only want to open with a hand you're willing to committ with.

Or while on a ~20bb stack and they 3-bet fold to an EP raise & shove (is that going to be translated on Google Translate?...hmm... okay then.. if a player opens with a raise and you have a stack of approximately 20 big blinds, don't re-raise them and then fold to a shove << I was railing this guy last night on a Fulltilt final table and he made this mistake and the one above a few times, knocking himself down from sitting with the 2nd biggest stack to the 2nd smallest.. it was kinda sad. I guess he just wanted to move up one more spot or so???).

ya best way to go is adjust your play based on chip stack...big stack/nit play wait for monsters...med stack play your game, switch gears and what not....small stack wait for some limpers and a monster or limp in when possible and play only play when you hit good on the flop.

I am not sure I have understood that correctly. Are you suggesting that, when playing a short stack, you should limp in with speculative hands and hope to hit a flop ?

If so, I don`t agree. When short-stacked, you should be saving your chips for a decisive move and then (as Poker Orifice remarks above) seeing that move through and doubling up if at all possible.

ICM tells us that when you are short-stacked (especially near the end of a tournament) each of your chips has greater value. Therefore, you should husband them carefully and use them effectively.

This has always been my method, decent hands seem far and few between on the last table, especially when your short stacked.

If you play a few hands the relative large blinds will eat you away until a double up means your back to your original small stack.

Although im a risk taker so to each their own I suppose.
