Hi guys,

Would appreciate some advice on what I can do when completely card DEAD. See capital letters.

Just played 3 matches heads up against a player who raised 100%, and c-bet half pot flop and turn 100%. Not an exaggeration, with literally any two cards. Called 100% of my flop c-bets.

Folded until I hit a decent Ax/Kx or suited hand. Missed every flop. Missed every draw. Hit two pair twice and board went 4 to a straight. Lost every flip as a favorite. AK against K2. QQ against T8. Honestly feel like I'm cursed.

Not even just this game. Every sit n go I've played today I'm missing 80% flops. Meanwhile my opponents are hitting top pairs, straights, flushes and have pocket pairs coming out of their earholes. Not sure what else I can do apart from try and ride it out but it's just super frustrating when I'm playing against people who should be free money.

Edit - After I type this, been shoved on holding KT on a K high flop by 95.... lost. HAD ENOUGH.

Thanks for posting.

This is not an uncommon occurrence for many of us. It is not uncommon for good players to have 60 buy in down swings from time to time. 100 buy in down swings really drive you nuts.

Variance is a tidal wave sometimes. We just have to make sure it does not drown us.

Review the hands you played and make sure you were not pressing or you were ignoring signals from your villains. We have to not let the emotion influence our actions so reflect on your play and be honest about what really happened.
Make a plan for run bad by trying to recognize any early tilt warnings.

Then get back in and start the fight again.

Hope this helps.

Instead of getting angry and feeling like everything is against you - you need to relax and look at the big picture...you are getting your money in as a really large favorite vs this opponent from what you are telling me - ANNNND - better yet, sounds like they are a calling station. This is a dream opponent for any solid player!!

Seeing him win makes you feel like crap, sure - but he thinks he's got luck on his side and hes killing it right now. If you keep playing this guy with solid hands - you will crush him! A few heads up games are nothing to go to pieces over....if you played this guy 1000 times with the hands playing to their odds you would win 700+ of those matches.

Edit:: So final thought here - and not to sound too harsh but - stop crying about the suckouts coming from the bad player - put your big boy pants on and realize this is the exact situation you want because in the long run you will destroy them.

Same Here especially in the league games... I'm thinking of performing some sort of satanic ritual, jeez its got to be worth a try... I'm going to sacrifice a bag of jelly babies tonight whilst playing... Wish me some dark luck as i don't like eating the green ones... I'm not racist...:ciao:

This happens. If you are playing in a live casino you can change tables or seats. If you are playing online cash games you can also do the same (only change tables). This may make a difference. In the case of a MTT there is nothing you can do.

Stop playing heads-up, unless it is at the end of a MTT or Sit&Go...
With just 1 opponent the ranges get lose and luck is becoming a much bigger factor.
In a full ring game you will usually not find too many players acting that way without getting destroyed pretty fast.

That's not a guarantee that you ar enot going to lose against any donk with 3 outs unfortunately, but playing heads-up or 6max tables allows your opponents to play far more hands and hit their miracles. And more often their outs are actually still in the deck and have not been dealt to other players who folded...

So that's how you win? Calling 70BB preflop all-in with ATs and beat QQ with a set of tens? So you're compensating low iQ level actions with so called "dark luck" ? Nice Nice.. GL GL and keep doing that, also keep fingers crossed, wear rabbits paw and pray during the deal.:bebored:

it is very exhausting to lose like this, also you should not break and continue playing correctly.

Unfortunately, the game volume is too high, so the number of bad shots is high.

don't be discouraged and continue

I feel your pain. It's been so constant like that for me lately, it's depressing. It's been bad for months, but lately it's just gotten to the point I wonder wth's going on. Miracle outs taking me down almost every hand I dare to play.
I know there's variance, but it's getting ridiculous. Hell, I can't even win a ticket on a spin anymore lol
How long can a turn around really take? How does it not start affecting the way you play? I know it's affected mine.
Good luck :)

So you are playing softball and you are mad the other team only hits home runs. Then I would choose not to play that day. Some days the deck is stacked against you. Play on a day when you can do nothing wrong. Poker is like that.
