Well, I got to the end of my first month and to be honest I'm astonished at the results so far:

Cash games (FR and 6max, though often not complete tables, only at £0.01/0.02NL): 1791 hands played. £6.37 up. I make that 17.7BB per 100. WTF? Am I playing with desperate fish or have I just got lucky?

MTTs: mixture of small stakes, freerolls and FPProlls. Played 39. Finished in the money 19 times for profit of £6.88. Second place 8 times but only turned it into a win once.

So I treated myself to two volumes of Harrington's books (Amazon knew precisely when to send me an offer code :) ), which I guess means I've actually made a loss overall! I know the two areas that have been the most problem so far - firstly playing heads up, I seem to gradually haemorrage chips... secondly, in any situation I'm too tempted to call when I've had a hand that looked promising but failed to improve, and someone jumps into life post-flop. Heart says villain might be bluffing me, head says if he's honest then I'm well beaten. I've got a pretty tight style, which seems to suit a site where most players at my level are positive maniacs. But I'm definitely going to use up my FPPs and move off TrueMoneyGames - it's awful that there is often only one half-full table in progress at anything less than £1/£2.

So, where do I go from here? Suggestions please!

Its a little bit of bot. If you are a decent player it isnt hard to absolutely crush 2NL. This combined with a bit of luck can make you some pretty big wins

I guess my first month was partly about finding the games that suit me best. Definitely cash play, in that being disturbed by one of the kids (or partner!) at a critical moment in a MTT is a fine way to go tilting big time, or feeling under time pressure (amazed how long a 600-player freeroll takes - and how many players won't risk a £ on the cash tables but are prepared to play for 3 hours to win a tiny share of a £1 prize!). Being able to dip in and out at will works with my lifestyle. And although Omaha was fun, I did find it very hard playing both that and Holdem on the same day - adjusting the mindset between the two took a lot more time than I expected.

TBH its impossible to say how you are playing.

You have only played 1.8K hands.. Its too few to really say with any certainty what your winrate is or even if you have a winrate.

Just continue as is, try to play more tables, more sessions and for longer and aim to be playing at least 30-50K hands per month by this time next year.

I played just under 2K this afternoon
