Well ev certanly can be used in the tournaments but since you are not as deep as in the cash games is not a very usual thing to do, instead in the tournaments you use ICM

Not true. EV is used in any and every form of poker. Yes, I agree that you need to learn ICM too for tournaments, but that's only when you're looking at pay jumps. Every thing before that is EV play, ICM would be horrible to calculate in that place.
