Eliminate donks at 1/2nl my new strategy
Hey guys I like many of you have started low stakes poker at AC....And like many of you I was wondering why my current strategy was leaving me with a even chip stack through out my 8-12 hour sessions i sit down with 300 leave with 280-320....but I think I figured it out for myself I want to know your opinion! My goal is to eliminate the guess work after the flop.I think it will save me and you loads of time while picking up a few small and sometimes massive pots. So here it is excuse the GRAMMER AND SPELLING lol.
I think in low stakes everyone wants to gamble but there's certain prices people are willing to pay to see a flop they dont really know much about pot odds
..so first we need to forget pot odds
pre flop at 1/2 and 2/5? utg raises 4x bb and 3-5 donks call ...you have rags but 5:1 on a call sounds great... but your rags are only going to hit 22-33% of the time and odds are a over pair is on the board so your beat anyway... and i think the odds of hitting two pair on the flop is 50:1 let alone the set mines out there and draws...I SEE THIS WAY TO MUCH IN BORGATA!!!I see to many massive stacks dwindle because they're calling stations to raisers and bet with air for example at my table last night I had 3-5 callers for every raise....SO MUCH SO I STOPED RAISING PREMO hands ... I think this is key at low stakes... become a passive but super aggressive preflop player..you know your at a loose table which all 1-2/2-5 nl table's are for the most part if your in early position limp your AA-KK-QQ-JJ-1010-AK-AQ because odds are your going to get a raiser and 2-4 callers and thats when you make your PROFESSIONAL style move that will shock everyone at the table I love the faces at the table preflop when I three bet a little less or more then pot size depending on strength and amount of players in the hand ...usually a bigger bet for a weaker hand ...They're shocked and all of them will fold and if you get a caller or a shove you at least know where your at....
Now in late position if everyone limps to your power hand AA-KK-QQ-JJ-1010-AK-AQs even 9-9 8-8 would be good at this point with all limpers. I would bet 1.5x-2.5x times the pot so at 1-2 if you get 5 limpers that's $15-$25 once again for your weaker hands throw a little more in to portray a-a k-k ... you dont want to see a flop ever with AA-KK-QQ-JJ at 1/2nl 2/5nl and you dont want to be GREEDY PICK UP WHAT YOU CAN if someone shoves on your aces thats your double up.. so if you could erase the guess work you'll save a load of money in the long run... and this style makes you look like a freak people wont trust you at all at the table which is what you want!
Now one more thing I was at borgata last night at 2/5 nl and I had this guy I called the 35 dollar man ... he was very tight but his betting pattern was so easy to read it wasn't funny ... if he was in early mid position and made a raise u better get out of the hand especially if he was calling you down in a flop-turn bad news. Its reads like these that you need to make at the table in order for a proper preflop aggressive strategy to work... if you get shoved or raised by a tight player like this and you hold q-q j-j 10-10 kiss the cards and your 3 bet away at least you know where you stand in the hand when you know what kind of player your heads up with..... I think the best thing about this strategy is it eliminates most variance so its a tight but super aggressive at the same time!!!
more updates to come ill be head hunting at borgata this weekend peace!!!
