Hey everyone. I was wondering what you all find to be most appropriate for building up a small bankroll. This is solely from freeroll play so I'm talking about maybe 10 bucks. I feel like microstake cash games and maybe double or nothings would be a good way to go. I feel like the nature of many of the mtt on Carbon puts me at a disadvantage (add-ons, re-buys) since I wouldn't be able/nor willing to utilize such. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions!

what are the lowest buy in sit and go and double or nothing games available to you?

i did this recently on pokerstars but i imagine there are a lot more paths that i could take than available to you on carbon.

some people love double or nothing games but i personally don't like them, so half the people get double their buy in back, play another and lose and you're back to square one, you'd need to feel confident that you could win 3 out of every 4 you play to take this path of growing your bankroll.

what are the lowest buy in tournaments available to you?

as far as cash games go $10 will seriously not be enough to start with especially if you're on the wrong side of variance when you start to play, you could see that $10 disappear very quickly

Double or nothing!

I personally deposited £20 on 1st Jan, and I'm now at £40.50 playing the micro stakes (£1.15).

So far so good!

The lowest buy in for the sit n gos is 1.50. Used to be 1.10 but went up by the time I actually established a bankroll. As for tournaments, the lowest are at 1.10. I totally agree with the train of thought you have with double or nothings but I would love to give them a try since I have never done so. What did you personally find to be beneficial?

And glad it has gone well with you thus far Bentley! Hopefully I'll find similar success.

In Carbon with $10 you can only start with cash, it is quite enough + still have to play freerolls..

Yeah that's pretty much what I noticed as well horizon. I feel like sit n go's may work if I can start with a great winning percentage but if not, than yeah. I feel like mtt are pretty much out of the question at this point.

The double or nothings were pretty easy for me. It basically becomes a sitting contest so learn when to steal blinds in the later levels. I would also recommend cash games on Carbon but stay away from the hyper turbos. I made this mistake early on and the variance is too high for such a small bankroll.

i'd suggest trying to grind up further from freerolls before starting to grind out other games, maybe $25 would be better

Yeah I'll definitely give them a shot landopope. Despite the odds you have to overcome to win longterm, it still appeals to me.

I'll certainly continue to grind the freerolls along the way. Unfortunately, Carbon does not offer too many so it can be a bit frustrating to wait around for them.

I pokerstars deposit $20 and get a 30 on the day then low again no session is closed. As i have said many times the cash kills me.

What I would first do is decide what you are best at aka cash games, mtt, sit and goes, hyper, turbos ect. then I would start at the lowest stakes at the that and grow from there, most freerolls are mtts so you would have to invest in the others to get a feel for them, its best to go slow at first and see what type of player you are as you make money you can always move up, dont throw your whole bankroll away at one game.

$10 is still low. Have to accumulate say $20 and look now for the lowest stake

for cash game you could find.
