I have just finished reading Phil gordons little green book and plan on reading through it again while I wait for the little blue book that I have ordered. I noticed Phil gordon has a DVD out calledfinal table poker and wondered who has seen this DVD and if you would recommend it? I have enjoyed reading the little green book and think it has helped my game already.

Are there other DVDs out there that you would recommend? I find that I can get a better understanding of things when I watch them rather than having to read through books two or three times...

Hey Great start with Phil Gordon's book for sure (Little Blue is good too). I've never watched his dvd but I imagine it'd be decent. I doubt if he covers much more than he already does in his books though.

Instead of seeking out a dvd you might want to try to check out some training videos online (or to watch videos that other's have made...ie. sweating a tourney, of playing some SNG's and providing a commentary, describing their thought processes throughout). After reading a few books, I've found this kind of stuff to be quite helpful.

I haven't heard any reviews of any particular dvd's that'd be good.

Thanks for the advice. Are there any training video sites or particular videos that you could recommend?

The DVD is pretty good and informative. It shows him and his thoughts at a final table (although IIRC it is a staged tourny).

the dvd is ok. but the green book is awsome. like PokerOrifice says look into training sites. if you play at fulltilt and earn enough FTPs then you can get a free membership for stoxpoker.com and/or cardrunners.com. but if you are looking into buying one i heard great things about deucescracked.com and actually watched a free video there. I was very impressed by it. they got a deal if you signup with a credit card then cancel within 7 days that week is free. you might also just visit each site and just watch all there free samples. there are tons of training sites out there but deucescracked.com is supposed to be the best. especailly for beginners. if your serious about learning poker you might get a coach too. most training sites offer coaching too. good luck.

I definately agree about the green book being great. I read through it once now im going through it again slowly, at the same time applying alot of it to my game and I feel im improving already.

Thanks for the training sites, ill definately check them out and see what sort of deals I can get with them :)

I think as long as you are a member of Full Tilt you can use your password and watch all these lessons:

Full Tilt Academy.

I've seen segments of Phil Gordon's stuff online, Annie Duke's dvd is helpful.

Yeah- some of Phil Gordon's videos on youtube are pretty good. My brother got me the Final Table DVD put out by Phil Gordon and it's pretty good. Nothing advanced, but it's solid- and it reinforces the fundamentals of pot odds, creating a table image, being attentive.

I bought Howard Lederer's DVD called "Advanced Hold 'Em Strategies" used for about $3 at a video store a couple years ago. I love Lederer and love reading his essays on poker, but I don't rememeber the DVD being anything memorable.

I had this too, go to their main page, click on "Plans and sign up", choose basic and fill in the form.

That worked for me.
