What advice do you have for those?

I win maybe 1/4 of them and I really could use some advice.

If you play with regulars, these DoNs aren't easy to win. The ideal situation is that you can just keep folding and everyone else busts themselves out. But these situations rarely happen unless your table's full of morons.

In my experience, you generally play no more than 40 or 50 hands (Carbon, 1500 starting stack, 7 min levels) per game. In those few dozens of hands, if you get no playable hand, it is tough to survive.

I've playd somewhere between 100 to 200 of these but decided I am better off at cash games.

I had a run where I cashed in 18 straight, but more recently I've been going out at the 6th spot way too often. I simply don't get anything worthwhile and fold fold fold. Then when it's down to 6 and I am down to or 5 bbs, I gotta shove with a decent hand. Unfortunately, I usually get called and lose those 60:40 kind of showdowns. Sometimes, one or two additional regs will call just to eliminate you. I.e., it's harder for your hole cards to hold up in a 4 way pot compared to a 3 way compared to headsup.

In other words, as long as your shortstack does not win the showdown, they all win.

I try always to fold till I get a monster hand, the importance thing is I play no fast blind level Double or Nothing, then you have enough time. You should win two pots and then you have a good chance to stay till the end. The most players knock themselves out so you have only to win two little pots till one player to go. It's bad to have the smallest stack at the end, because they almost wait till the smallest get sucked out by the blinds, so play only monsters at the beginning. Mostly a few run out at the beginning and one or two with a small stack are left. So at the end I try to steal some blinds, but only with monsters to not get sucked out by the blinds. Actually I play only monster hands, but I get enough of them in this couple of time. So all in all try to avoid beeing the smallest stack and don't ply too much hands and you will stay till the end.
I have won many Double or Nothings at 888 Poker, it can be really easy cash. Just don't play at the beginning hard pots.

There is a lot of documentation on that on the internet. What stakes are you playing? On which network are you playing? Ongame?

If you're only winning 1 in 4 you've got some bad strategy. Maybe you're just playing too many hands. I find that super tight in DON's tends to work quite well, playing good pairs and top connectors / suited. If you're chip leader don't be afraid to fold a good hand. There are usually a couple of gear changes when people start to go for it - predict which short stack is going to shove - be ready to avoid it or call, be aware of your position before you call etc. If you're considering your position and your opponents stack you're probably already half way ahead of 50% of DON players. I've done quite well on DON's when I play safe. But I get very easily bored.

U need to get some pots in the beggining (be temperate and play only strong hands) and then wait for good position hands. Dont go all-in preflop unless u have a monster in ur hand.

what site are you playing on? i play these on Lock 2.0 and Carbon. i tend to try to stay out of big confrontations early, and tend to get more aggressive late depending on stack size

Yes playing very tight until you must shove is right. However, you still need quite a bit of luck to win at these things because quite often you don't get any cards and when you shove, the villain calls ya unnecessarily.

For example in my last game, I was last in chips with 6 left. I had about 5 bbs left. MP who had 8 bbs limped. With ATos on BTN I shoved. He calls with 88.

Coinflip. I lose. Been losing them all.

Normally I wait for an alright hand and raise 3bb as long as the bb isnt too high and also I normally stay super tkght and dont raise huge always raise 3bb unless blinds are over 200 only a 60% win rate they should be pretty easy to win...

Apart from being a good, solid, observant and analytical player, DoN is all about getting your money in good, often with small edges and playing a lot of volume. Of course, luck is a part of the game but constantly having an edge(even a small one) will result in profits in the long run.

always raise 3bb unless blinds are over 200

No need to raise 3BB when blinds get large. You're just throwing your chips away and commiting yourself unnecessarily. Raise 2,2 BB and you'll be fine.

extremely tight early. usually 1 or 2 guys play very loose and try to double up fast. don't feel bad when in position 5/7. just wait for a good hand and build steadily. try to avoid coinflips

Do you play these to make some money or do you like the structure? i personally hate these games, its not poker per say, you have regs who r folding everything, it gets tough then when the blinds go up you have to make a move and more often than not you get a bad beat. Not an enjoyable r profitable way to play i think

I generally play super tight in the first few levels of these, top 15-20% of hands as blinds are costing nothing. then opening up your range as the levels/blinds go up.

raising 2.2-2.5 should be sufficient.
