Does success playing Freerolls and Micro MTT's ruin your game?
After an extended break from online poker I found out my debit card would no longer work to deposit on Bovada
or Carbon (DOH!). So while researching deposit methods, I came across America's Cardroom
and their $10 Freerolls
. Since I am waiting for a NetSpend Visa
to be mailed to me I figured what the hell, even though I usually stink at freerolls and micro MTT's I joined up and started playing.
Long story short, I final table'd 2 freerolls (5th & 7th out of 700+) and then cashed in both of my first 0.10 and 0.50 tournaments in the first 2 or 3 days. That sounds all well and good but I feel like I am playing TERRIBLE poker in order to do this and I'm worried I am destroying my game. Something like a golfer shortening his backswing to hit it straight but losing competitive distance. Has anybody experienced this and have any advice or am I just crazy and over-thinking it?
