I've seen the term "reverse float" used a few places online (not in this forum, and it's not in the CardsChat glossary), but I can't quite tell if it's the same thing as a plain ol' donk.

Is there a difference between the two terms? Does a reverse float imply deception, whereas a donk is oop bet either for value as well as a bluff? Not sure. Thanks.

It means that you float from Out of position. So lets say we call the buttons raise, and we x/c his c-bet on the flop.

we can then either bet turn/river, or we can check the turn in order to gain info for the river. lets say he c-bets flop, checks back turn we can then lead the river.

It's most effective vs players who c-bet too much and give up easily on later streets if they don't have the goods. You have to be careful with this play as you will have less info overall, and players will also possibly be able to set you up on rivers in bluff catching situations. So not a play you want to be overusing, but one that has it's place if you have the right read on a player.

oh and an donk bet is to call from OOP preflop and then lead the flop to take away villians chance to c-bet, whereas the reverse float is calling his c-bet, then either leading turn or x/c and leading river.

It is when you give call on the flop hoping for a check of the villain in turn , and so can buy the pot by betting on the river. Not a very common move, but there are good situations to make it
