Making decisions is based on more than pot odds alone, although understanding pot odds is vital to being good at the game. You have to consider implied odds, stack depth, stack to pot ratio, our equity, our range, our opponents range, how we would react to our opponents potential actions and reactions, prior actions, any tells or patterns and much more. The math of Poker is great way to begin to think about the game and from there it becomes much more dynamic in each situation you are involved in.

this is great advice. while pot odds are certainly important, they are only one piece of the puzzle.
